For this installment of my chill series I found inspiration the moment I heard a vocodered voice singing Hotel California in the Luxxury edit. A week later I heard AfroQBen's amazing remix of Sweet Emotion by Aerosmith and I was off to the races. Being a New Wave kid as a teen I didn't get into many of these songs until my adult years and yet somehow I listen to this mix and it makes me feel like a teenager again.

December Mix 2023

By far, my favorite experience at Burning Man this year was DJing atop Garage Mahal's Ganesh Bus - in the midst of a raging dust storm - on a magical mystical art tour in celebration of my dear friend Janet Love's 50th birthday. It was just insane out - a bus full of stoked Mahalers and random burners appearing out of the dust to climb aboard; so much wind and dust that I literally couldn't tell if we were moving or not; CDJs so near the end of their rope that it's a miracle they went the distance; fantastic art appearing and disappearing in the most surreal of fashions; and a bunch of deep, warm, happy and all around awesome house music. Truly the stuff magic is made of. The actual set was not recorded, but this redux version definitely captures the feeling and is the better, quality wise, for having not been recorded under those insanely wonderful conditions. My deepest love and thanks to everyone that built the bus and rode it that day. Dedicated with love to you, to Janet Love for your birthday and to my love, Flo, for the best Burn ever, baby. Love you all, tons.

A chameleon by nature, Mo Corleone is a DJ that defies categorization. On any given weekend you may find her directing the dance floor in a dark warehouse or slammin' club venue, but you're just as likely to catch her in the Sierra Nevada mountains, the Hawaiian jungle, or the Black Rock Desert.
 
Mo loves to exploit the gray area between genres. You'll appreciate her sets if you like electro in your techno, psy in your progressive, or rock in your breakbeats. When she's not bouncing with the energetic renegade crew Want It!, Mo unwinds with the Bay Area darlings of downbeat, the Ambient Mafia.

Recent years have seen a dual love for the main floor and the chill room play out in Mo's production work. Oscillating between deep house releases and collaborative downtempo projects with live string musicians, an undeniable groove is the only constant you should expect.
