‘The Night Ravers’ is the first release on Codename: RCRDS, the new label from Southampton-based jungle, 160 and atmospheric crew Codename: Amen. The release and label channel the energy of the 90’s rave era, pushing the sound forward into exciting new directions for 2023.

Moakz’s original mix marks a movement away from his previous atmospheric and jazz jungle releases, and towards his hardcore roots. Now complemented by storming remixes from the incredible RAVETRX (HooverSound, forthcoming Club Glow), and the release closes out with the superbly talented NonRev and rising star Cold Leader delivering innovative reworks, with this EP provides a marker of intent for the label and collective artists.

Missen drop the goods with a sick lil' rework of SBTRKT's 'Living Like I do'

Part 2 of the ‘Drifting…’ trilogy of releases, ‘Keys For A Drifting Rose EP’ is the fourth release on Codename: RCRDS, the new label from Southampton-based jungle, 160 and atmospheric crew Codename: Amen. 

Keys For A Drifting Rose commences with ‘The One’ by the atmos master Okee, a dreamy inward looking roller for the ages, alternating haunting vocals perfectly capturing feelings of post-rave isolation. Man of the moment Mineral returns to the label with ‘Shallow’, contrasting chopped breaks, atmospheric tones and deep rumbling basses in a beautiful example of his truly unique sound.

Next up we find the prolific NonRev in commanding form, with the mysterious and powerful roller ‘Private Eye’, perfectly primed to get dancefloors moving with it’s rumbling basslines, intricate drum edits and catchy vocals, before the EP closes with Bottoni's fascinating reworking of ‘Shallow’, where a half-time rhythm is interspersed with the breakbeat choppage and atmospherics of Mineral’s original, clearly demonstrating the talents of this unique and talent artist.

The EP opens with a Codename debut for highly talented young duo Missen, where a sedate rhodes intro gradually evolves into a warped bass-driven stepper guaranteed to tear up any dancefloor.

Trident delivers the hypnotic roller ‘Far Away Dreams’, a stunning track which should find homes in both atmospheric and jungle circles, before the EP closes out with the prolific NonRev contributing the tough beats and warped bass of the deep rolling ‘Wretched Of The Earth’.

Hey, just wanted to share this new track and let you all know about this fund raising various artist compilation that just dropped.

This is "The Jah Rich Project" 

This project was put together by a group of generous artists to benefit our friend JahRich in his battle against cancer. Rich has been a long time supporter of the Jungle/Drum&Bass scene as well as an admin on the Jungletrain chat and forums. All proceeds go directly to him.
All tracks have been donated and all tracks have been mastered by Bob Macc at Subvert Central Mastering.

You have some amazing artists on this from Equinox to Dub-One, Rumbleton, Leon Mar, Ricky Force, Greenleaf, Duburban Pixl & Peeb, Krugah, myself and many more.
There is a wide range of styles on offer so there should be something for everyone on here.

My featured track on this is "The Reef" and I'm more than happy to put it on this compilation for such a worthy cause alongside such amazing artists.

While living in Thailand for a brief stint, Black Barrel and Ant TC1 found themselves as neighbours. During that time, Black Barrel shared some long-lost, unfinished 90s projects by Karl Miller. The dusty archives instantly struck a chord with Ant; raw, atmospheric blueprints that still held serious weight.

The pair wasted no time selecting two standout tracks to breathe new life into for a Dispatch Blueprints release. What followed was a true collaborative exchange, with Karl Miller and Black Barrel trading ideas across borders, each injecting their signature style into the foundations of these original cuts.

The result? Two pieces of deep, atmospheric Jungle music, charged with nostalgic character but sharpened by a modern edge. Vintage bones, future flesh.
