Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons brings together a wide assortment of vocalists, collaborators and players from around the world and was joined at the production controls by James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco, Arctic Monkeys, Florence). Taking inspiration from Lazarus's Lazpod series, Get Lost events and Day Zero festival in Mexico, the resulting album, ‘Message From the Other Side’ is a rich and ambitious project featuring musicians from LA, Egypt, Pakistan, Mozambique and Mexico’s Yucatan Symphony Orchestra.

One of the UK’s finest electronic songwriters and vocalists, Ali Love rose to fame providing vocals for The Chemical Brothers hit, "Do It Again", for their 2007 album ‘We Are the Night’. Appearing since on Columbia Records, Back Yard Recordings and co-penning the Justice single ‘Civilization’, used in the biggest Adidas commercial to date, Ali is now part of two of the biggest current dance acts; Infinity Ink and Hot Natured, the latter playing Coachella this year and scoring a place in the UK top 40 Charts.

With her on the release she has Adrian Hour and Eddie M, who each brings a remix in their own style. “Jump The Couch” is recognized by its strong bassline, sharp leads and small vocal parts that if you play it in the right place at the right time, turns into the track of the night. “Perfectly Imperfect” is a bass-heavy trip through thunderous drums and razor-sharp percussion, tempered by an beautifully restrained vocal and a sick synth. Adrian Hour’s remix of “Jump The Couch” brings powerful drums., and is the perfect track to bring the atmosphere in the night to the next level, a perfect wrecking ball. Eddie M brings out the groovy side of “Perfectly Imperfect”. This remix is a massive Dj-tool with its rolling bassline, and soundwise it perfectly rounds up the EP.

After the huge success of last years release “It Began In Africa Vol.1” and the hit single “Bolingo Gringo” (Beatport Top 10 for 7 weeks), Juliet Sikora and Tube & Berger decided to produce the It Began in Africa Vol.2. A lot of hard work has been put into making the latest volume of the compilation.
In cooperation with The African Children‘s Choir™, 26 artists, Turntablerocker, Lützenkirchen, Dapayk, Delicious, Chris Lattner, Pirupa & Pigi, Aki Bergen aka Neuroxyde, Doomwork, Daniel Steinberg, Oliver Klein, Tube & Berger, Juliet Sikora, Gorge, Ante Perry & Kolombo, Larse, &ME, Basti Grub, Sarp Yilmaz, Nicolas Stefan, Wollion & Harada, Ismael Rivas, MSMS & SKAI, Heartik; Andhim, Krizz Luco, Rauschhaus, La Rez & Mick Zakon and Nicolas Stefan made their own interpretations of the original songs for the “IT BEGAN IN AFRICA VOL.2” charity compilation.
All profits made from the sale of this compilation will be donated to the choir and their further projects; i.e. building schemes, the founding of nurseries, and schools to help children get away from a life on the streets.
“With this project we sincerely hope to be able to support the children of Africa and empower them so that one day they will be able to help themselves”.
