For the 64th episode of our series we brought you a 40 track mix by The Layering Wizard aka JAN GOERTZ.

Jan Goertz's creative work is largely driven by the desire to test and redefine his limits in competition with technology. This is one of the reasons why he is known for his 4-deck mixes containing a multitude of tracks. First two and then three players simply became too boring for him. The motivation to DJ, however, also comes from the calmness that is triggered in his otherwise very bustling head during the process. And of course the fun!

His goal in djing is the creation of an "endless groove". By breaking up track structures, Jan wants to form a mix as a "unity from its individual parts, instead of just stringing songs together". He prefers to play with four players.

Primarily, Jan draws inspiration from the club context - both as a guest and as an artist. For him, techno is first and foremost "functional and works for and in a club. That's what this music is made for."

Nevertheless the layering wizard also tries to combine smooth vibes with strong grooves for his podcasts and the pleasure of listening techno outside of a club.

MOD82 Series #064 - JAN GOERTZ

Dance TV is extremely proud to present DJ MIX #587 with the legendary German DJ, Producer and Love Parade Originator - Dr. Motte. The excitement is even bigger as the Berlin based artist is the mastermind behind the Rave the Planet organisation, which in just a few days will gather tens of thousands of rave fans in the streets of the German capital to dance to loud techno music!

One of Berlin's original electronic music artists who qualify for the title of legendary is surely Dr. Motte. An iconic figure of the Techno scene - DJ, producer and remixer from the original vanguard of Techno's few pioneering souls - Dr. Motte initiated and successfully staged what became the biggest cultural celebration of music, tolerance, love and indeed life itself, that the world has ever seen: the Loveparade. 

Despite his great global recognition and the impressively long list of achievements, Dr. Motte has stayed true to his ideals, true to the underground that has been his home for decades. By his consciously chosen way of life, he remains a peace activist attuned to the all important zeitgeist. Now, just like then, he stands for love, unity and tolerance and cares like nobody else for preserving and developing the Electronic Music Culture. 

In 2019 Dr. Motte returned as the mastermind behind the Rave The Planet concept - a new Parade for a new era! In addition to organising the parade, educational exhibitions and releasing new music, the Rave The Planet non-profit organisation he founded, is aiming to list our beloved Techno Culture on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.

His sound is sophisticated, energetic and multi-faceted. He combines bouncing Acid sounds and rousing club grooves with driving heavy beats, taking his audience on a colourful trip through his universe, staying relevant and being admired by all generations of Techno fans.

Early in his youth @mazekashi learnt to play piano and e-bass and gained experiences in various bands and music groups. After moving to Berlin in 2016, he immediately was driven by the incredible energy of electronic music, thrilling basslines, electrifying melodies and sharp snares. Maze quickly decided to start DJing to share his passion for music with his own personal touch!
Those familiar with him know that he loves to take over the crowd with his sound, depending on the mood and energy, and take them on a very special musical journey through a wide variety of genres and styles.
Maze is the co-founder of @buschtanz, organizing the lovely Buschtanz festival and other events with an incredible crew, and is also part of @staygold_music.
