Concept Text:

Welcome to the Jungle. ANIMA Records follows up its debut release with JUNGLE [002]. As part of our mission to connect the world with a global techno sound - We are releasing one of the first ‘Concept’ Techno Records. Paired with equally psychedelic artwork, this album is a 'jungle-themed' release, inspired by organic sounds, lush world rhythms, and a focus on producers based in warmer climates. We feature music from Brazil, Uruguay, Malta, Australia and much more - as we take the focus away from club environments, to the places where the sun can shine, a clave pattern pushes the beat forward, and the heat is welcome. ‘JUNGLE’ is our next step in offering the future of dance music something fresh and different ~

Dan Curtin stands as one of electronic music's most enduring and respected figures, with a career spanning over three decades that has cemented his reputation as a true pioneer in techno and house music. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio and now based in Berlin, Curtin has forged a distinctive sound that blends Detroit-influenced techno with melodic complexity and raw, funk-infused grooves. Curtin's impressive discography dates back to 1992, encompassing 70 singles and 9 albums released on acclaimed labels such as Peacefrog Records, Strictly Rhythm, Mobilee, and his own imprint, Metamorphic Recordings, which he founded in 1992 and continues to operate today.

Cosmic JD @cosmicjd
A key presence within Toronto’s underground community, Cosmic JD has been furthering the local scene from both sides of the booth as both performer and promoter. The Colombian native’s Hypnotic Mindscapes @hypnotic_mindscapes collective curates intimate gatherings with advanced house and techno, often offering a forward-thinking program, and also releases musical works with unique blends of styles somewhere there in the spectrum of techno, house, electro and beyond. When playing records or performing all-hardware live sets, a fastidious attention to detail and selection has shone a spotlight on Cosmic JD’s sets and made him a frequenter amongst cities such as Barcelona, Berlin, Montréal, Toronto, and more.
