Sub Basics lands on Osmura with the 'Phase Drift' EP, the label's second release, following a 2024 V/A featuring Caldera, Bartoli, Atomic Moog, Solma, Birgan, and Shjva. The ‘Phase Drift’ EP opens with ‘Colour’, a high-tempo, percussive, bass-heavy cut blends hypnotic echoing synths with soft, mellow syncopated pads. Up next, ‘Scope’ works a tumbling high bpm percussion over an aquatic undercurrent. On the flip, ‘Splinter’, Sub Basics deftly builds melodies and brings punchy, moody textures to the fore. Finally, the ‘Phase Drift’ EP wraps up with ‘Nt’, a deep, expansive soundscape marked by a chugging groove and gritty industrial reverb.

London-based Sub Basics producer, DJ and Temple Of Sound founder has accumulated support from Ben UFO, Laurent Garnier, Roman Flügal, Kia, Lena Willikens, Tasha and Foundation Audio. Sub Basics’ discography extends to labels such as Modern Hypnosis, Infernal Sounds and Bait, which featured in Mixmag’s 2024 best tracks of the year roundup. The ‘Phase Drift’ EP perfectly encapsulates a unique genre-defying approach to production from an artist on a spiralling upward trajectory. April 3rd, 2025 marks an exciting milestone as our first physical vinyl release. We are thrilled to announce you AMPH003, our next release - The Mission EP by Kobayashi Maru & Silhouette. 

Channeling peak-era dark garage ambience and contemporary trance stomper technology in the same breath, on their debut collaboration Silhouette (AKA Vision of 1994) and Kobayashi Maru join forces on Amphibian Records for The Mission, a 4-track EP that airlifts the snarl and frayed temper of early dubstep into the psychedelic frontiers of modern dance music.

Kobayashi Maru & Silhouette - The Mission EP - AMPH003 - Preview

Priori’s hit EP Pareidolia gets a well deserved remix treatment. The relation between Priori and Midgar started early 2023 with the release of his Pareidolia EP, where a remix for Keplrr followed quickly the year after. Now, early 2025, a group of close friends and admired artists were invited to rework the Pareidolia’s originals.

Midgar affiliate Forest Drive West uses the opportunity to present not one but two remixes. Presenting one half-time 85 bpm twist of Hazard and another slow-paced murky techno groover. Originally from Montreal, Maara forms the Canadian connection and she turns Memory Palace into a beautiful bouncy dub-techno floater. Sound experimentalist Notte Infinita takes his turn on Pareidolia’s title track and creates some magnificent eyes-closed drum & bass hypnotism. At last, Amsterdam’s upsammy brings back the light with her iconic playful approach. She flips the steady groove of Glass Shards into a jumpy interplay of rhythms and joy.

Bait is set to release the debut EP, ‘Hepp’, from Leipzig producer Old Man Crane with four subterranean bass experimentations.
Marking the 16th release on the label since its inception in 2023, the connection between Old Man Crance and the label started via a DM with her demos and blossomed into a collaborative partnership including a spontaneous back-to-back with Beatrice M. at Bassmaessage last year. The ‘Hepp’ EP follows shortly on from Old Man Crane’s first appearance on Bait via the One Hundred and Fifty Steps compilation series and begins an exciting chapter for the emerging artist.
