Improviser & sonic storyteller from Aleppo, Syria, currently based in Bucharest, Romania.

My work is dedicated to decolonizing sound and challenging Western perspectives on non-Western music scenes, with a clear political stance against white supremacy. 

I studied classical and contemporary composition at the National University of Music Bucharest (2021), mentored by Mihaela Vosganian. 

Recently, I’ve been active with the AL.Ehtifal Project, a flexible body of musicians from different backgrounds who come together to create layered soundscapes through improvisation.

The AL.Ehtifal Project is a musical ensemble based on the idea of integrating spontaneous thoughts into performance moments, as a way of communication.

 

The word AL.Ehtifal comes from Arabic and it means The Celebration.

 

The AL.Ehtifal Project challenges the dominant musical landscape and established norms through authentic forms of artistic expression, born out of the need for experimentation. 

 

The project has a flexible body of musicians. 

The core members are based in Bucharest, Romania.

Black Rhino Radio is a project promoting artists, music, and the culture behind the sound. Built around people with a background in music and visual arts, the team behind summons over 15 years of experience. On every project, we make the voices of both established and emerging artists heard.

The online station promotes the diversity of music and people. The Black Rhino Radio community summons musicians, visual artists, DJs, professionals, record store owners, selectors, label owners, promoters, and music lovers. With each show put out on the world wide web, we aspire to bring a feeling of happiness for both the broadcaster and the audience.

Lebanese indie label Ruptured was founded in 2008 by music promoter/radio producer Ziad Nawfal and sound engineer/producer Fadi Tabbal from Tunefork Studios, as an outlet for their activities as music producers and promoters in Beirut. 
Ruptured aims to release material by Lebanese and international artists, with a strong focus on alternative rock, electronic and experimental music.
