So, we have entered the battlefield of our Georgian general, Generali Minerali. Resident of Tbilisi and a record producer in his own right, the General is a self-made man. And he knows what he wants from his kicks and snares. Tovariš Minerali opens with Hey Robot which has the density and tension of Dexter a few years ago strengthened with a romantic string of a Claro Intelecto. Lost brings us a mélange of a phat acid line and a sparse b-line to, ostensibly trying to make us cold. On the other side, the warmth of the strings melts the ice, brings the sun and makes us understand the depths of the Black Sea. GM Robot – Cisco Ferreira and Gesloten Cirkel would be proud. Nothing else to add, really. Gaumarjos! Finally, we have a jam, the Jam, and though finger-licking, it’s not the strawberry type. All in all, a diamond in the rough. Tbilisi, 12 points! Caviar. Raise your hand if you love lasers and cats! We thought what better way to bring in the new year than with a mix by Lazercat! The Berlin-based DJ and producer delivers an electro disco for us to dance the night away to. Lazercat makes disco house and electro, and has released music on labels including @bordelloaparigi, @snufftrax and Home Breakin Records. Her Vector Dance EP includes a dreamy acidic remix by @vertical67. She’s performed for @mechatronicamusic, Intergalactic FM and Dreams of Neon alongside other electro nobility. Watch out for exciting new Lazercat releases burning through the airwaves soon, and until then, let’s groove into 2020 with “cats on synthesizers in space!”

Richard Easel is the electro project of Berlin-based DJ and producer and Italian born Riccardo Sbardella. Derives a sense of style out of his various IDM and Hip Hop projects contrived in the past. Richard Easel is an artistic endeavour that serves as an outlet for his own unique style of Electro. The word Easel comes from Buchala Synth the Easel, as a tribute to his passion for modular synthesisers, and especially for West Coast Synthesis.

Richard Easel: has forged collaborations with, Datawave, DVS NME, Izapa, Francois Dillinger who works on ideas and productions when he comes to Berlin. Easel is based here with his studio, where he has recently had the pleasure of working Federico Leocata. His more recent discography is productions with labels such as Blind Allies, followed by Va's in Patrick Van Neck’s label “zwaartekracht”, Dionysian mysteries, Bande Magnétique and Lost Control. A newcomer to Specimen we gauge Easel’s passion for his own unique style of Electro, which is trout to the label with a 4 track Ep Exterreri (“Nightmare”)

The EP comprises of the 3 distinct styles in one release, Easel with intricate sublimation and experimental modular sounds of the Buchala. Datawave’s remix of Exterreri, with his trademark spatial depth, charged electro and Federico Leocata with his unique funky-minimal approach, which renders his darkly mysterious sound unlike Metaphysix underpinning a sound suited to Specimen and its future sound.

The second release in the exit planet earth compilation vinyl series features four exclusive tracks designed for space travel, including the first ever collaboration between Keith Tucker of Aux 88 and Carl Finlow. The resulting track ‘Coder’ is an electro masterpiece. The more established electro pairing of Jensen Interceptor and Assembler Code hit heavy with ‘Red Cell’ while Voigtmann brings the bass to space with ‘Subtopia’. The record is rounded off beautifully by Cignol with Detroit infused string sections and harmonies on his ‘51D’ track.

[PREMIERE] Testkard 225 - Flames [Confused Machines] 

Testkard 225 was a pioneering industrial project by journalist Danny Beller, releasing a handful of cassettes during the 80s and was a major influence for the electronic and experimental scene in Isreal. 

Recorded on a four-track with minimal electronic equipment in desert city Beer Sheva, Gebanku is about a world collapsing into dystopia, caused by a drastic event or a virus that disrupts the existing order of things. Kicking off with a seemingly optimistic opening, then going through a darker phase and eventually reaching a safe harbour.
