Keep The Faith

recorded on June 3rd, 2024, in the morning,
in Tiohtià:ke (Montréal)

I will probably come back to clean it up, levels, parts to remove if any, etc.  When I do I will keep the same file name but will remove the "Raw" part.

Unfortunately the truck had left by the time I came back to take the picture,
so don't go scrutinizing the photo looking for it, it's not there, lol.

Two years ago me and my son went to the beautiful city of Lisbon. I do hope I get to go there soon again and enjoy the lovely atmosphere, people, music, food, narrow streets and beautiful buildings.

Yesterday I started my small tribute to the lovely city, I finished it today and hope you will enjoy the listen.

Inspired by a poem by Robert Bly:

 “Ah, on this planet we are born again and again. A gold sun rises in the East, but for us, it is a black sun. Each time the black sun rises, dazzling and tremendous, its sadness flows into us. ‘If this sadness could not flow out of me, it would kill me.’
I listen and I see a horse-dragon swim up out of the Black Sea. It climbs into the air. Play on, play on - what can we do but long for this dragon-water from the Black Sea to fall on us?”

While making this, the medieval text 'Omnia sol temperat' dumped into my head. As it have the rebirth theme as well, the synchronicity of it all seemed unmistakeable :-)

Bit of a wacky one this , written by and lead vocals by Gaz Brownie , he sent me a rough draft and basically said " off you go Mike " We got keyboard whizz kid Axel Menningen on board , and the whole thing turned out really good , we hope you like it ! Me , Gaz and Nat have just finished a real belter of a song , took a bit of doing but worth it in the end , released in about a month . Next up is me and Dave Cooper , closely followed by me and Glenny G . then a re release of last years Christmas song ( didn't have time to do a new one ! ) Plus me and Charlotte are working on 2 stunning songs , yet to be completed . J'ai eu la chance de rencontrer TAF qui m'a chanté des chants Sénégalais "a capella" et j'ai de suite été bluffé par la puissance de sa voix. J'avais composé une musique qui me semblait de sonorité Africaine je lui ai donc proposé et nous l'avons joué tous ensemble en improvisant dessus, c'est un ancien enregistrement d'une quinzaine d'années.

So here's the finalized version of my songs! 

I feel kind of weird releasing them now, because I wrote these so long ago. These songs are some of my first ones I've ever written. I've spent so many hours recording in my basement or in a music room after school, editing on GarageBand, and just trying to make it sound the best I could with what I had. I don't relate to them as much as I used to, because even in the last several months I've grown as a person, and when I listen to them, I definitely feel like I'm listening to a less-confident, younger, more scared me. Nonetheless, here they are now. Hope you enjoy.

The Empire of the Full Moon seeks to uncover the mysteries surrounding great songwriting.
Over the years, the Empire has evolved from simple songwriting into creating more complex musical works, viewing music as a true art form.
The Empire blends various styles of music, including classical, thrash metal, heavy metal, hip-hop, and techno, into a unique genre called symphonic metal.

Moht, the main composer behind The Empire of the Full Moon, began creating melodies at an early age.
With an acoustic guitar, xylophone, and toy accordion in his room, Moht started playing instruments during his childhood, learning musical skills from his father, who was also a musician and played the accordion and acoustic guitar.

Today, The Empire is dedicated to crafting outstanding compositions and exploring the depths of songwriting and musical creation.
