For Minus & MRDolly, "Giant Stops" represents a new chapter in his evolution as a musician, showcasing his growth and commitment to pushing boundaries in his genre-bending style. The perpetual Fresh Selects Remix Series continues on with our seventh episode – this time in the form of Royce Wood Junior's most recent single getting a new redux from fellow Londoner multi-talent, Harve. 

Recently selected as a new personal favorite of Sir Elton John himself for his 'Rocket Hour' radio show on Apple Music 1, "You're So Fuckin' Perfect" is RWJ's jangling Funk rumination on the ever-foreboding A.I. tech and all that comes with it – now given an appropriately Electronic tilt by Harve, with glitches and robo-stutters abound, all underlined with a seismic bassline worthy of only the most proper soundsystems. 

Handpicked by Royce as the ideal remixer to do the honors – Harve has been making waves over the last few years with a string of singles starting in 2018 and two subsequent EP's since (2020's 'Held By The Moon' and their latest, 'In Time', released just last month). First introduced as a vocalist, Harve has recently started to delve further into the world of production – which this remix only solidifies the fact that they are one of the most exciting new artists in the craft.

1) Tell us a bit about yourself and your record collection.

My name is Jamison Harvey, aka DJ Prestige, and I am a DJ, father, husband, freelance writer, designer, and champion for vinyl records.  I founded the site FleaMarketFunk.com close to ten years ago.  I am a lover of vinyl records, vinyl record culture, and a student of all types of music.  You will learn something new everyday.  I highly encourage to do that, as well as challenge yourself to hear new things.  It makes you a better person.  Right now I'm on a free, spiritual jazz journey that's been going on for years, and am learning about chicha music from Peru.  Always something new.  
My record collection tells the story of me.  Every single LP or 45 has a story, and I they could probably explain my life better than I could ever.  

2) 45/7 is all about celebrating the 7". Can you tell us a bit about what you love about the format?

I love the 45 because it's portable.  I can travel easily with my 45s, plus it makes you work when you DJ.  Three minutes is a short time for a song, so you need to be prepared and on your toes.  I also feel that you can find a lot of records that were 45 only,  That's the magic.  Small runs, small labels, BIG music.  

3) One hour of vinyl goodness... can you talk us through your selection for your 45/7 mix?

My selections are a bunch of records I am feeling right now.  From the opener, Sir Charles Hughes, which was used for the movie Black Dynamite, to some new soul jazz from Chris Hazelton's Boogaloo 7, some sweet soul out of NJ from The Jack Moves, or the Galt MacDermot latin cover by The Slingshots as well as a few artists from my favorite modern funk and soul label Colemine Records.  Honored that I was asked to contribute to this new show.  Shout out to Primitive Sound System aka Pat James Longo for getting me a copy of that Sir Charles record.    

4) Where can people catch you / listen to your music? 

Right now I have a residency at The Leadbelly in the Lower East Side/ Chinatown section of Manhattan in NYC on Wednesdays, as well as Ace Hotel NYC in the Flatiron section a few months out of the year.  I also do travel gigs around the country and abroad, so if anyone in Germany would like to fly me out to do some shows, feel free to hit me up at jamison@fleamarketfunk.com

1) Tell us a bit about yourself and your record collection.

I'm DJ/Producer for over 20 years living in Jersey, Channel Islands... Recently release a track with Oxygen from SoundSci on Dinked45 Records, record collection mainly into hip-hop/funk/soul and reggae but have a very eclectic taste so won't rule anything out as you'll guess by the mix lol.  Been buying 7" on and off for last 10 years, especially been keen on finding the samples which have been used in hip-hop records for Djing, not fanatically about having the original but nice to have if can afford it :)

2) 45/7 is all about celebrating the 7". Can you tell us a bit about what you love about the format.

A lot more fun and challenging to DJ with as the tracks are finite time length to play, there's also the investment not only with buying the track but time spent tracking down something, alot easy with the internet now though.

3) One hour of vinyl goodness... can you talk us through your selection for your 45/7 mix?

To be honest, it was a bunch of tracks thrown together, nothing planned. Kind of wanted it to reflect parts of my dj sets that's all and records i like.

1) Tell us a bit about yourself and your record collection.

Well, my name is Rory Hoy - I am a music producer and DJ from the UK. I have been producing and DJing since late 2005 and I have had 5 albums on Freddy Fresh’s Howlin’ Records label USA, countless singles, EP’s, remixes and collabos during that time on various worldwide labels. I’ve done music for Film, TV and Adverts such as Disney, Sony BET, Fox TV, Costco, ITV and BBC. You may have seen me perform in the UK at clubs and at major festivals such as Leeds Festival and the Tour De France Fan Park, where I played to over 20,000 people! I’ve been on UK and US TV, Radio and Press many times and I am also a multi-award winning film-maker. 

I have been collecting records since 1993 with my first record being “Boom, Shake The Room!” by Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince but I didn’t start getting into vinyl until early 1999 via my Dad’s collection. My record collection is quite expansive and extremely diverse ranging from fragile George Formby 78’s from the 1930’s to promos of the latest brand-new, up-to-the-minute dance stuff that isn’t even officially out yet! I am very proud of my collection and everywhere you go in my house, you’ll see records in every single room!

2) 45/7 is all about celebrating the 7". Can you tell us a bit about what you love about the format.

The 7 Inch singles format is great as it cuts out all the filler and is all killer - it’s perfect for Motown, Rock, Pop, Reggae etc and it’s very easy to see why this format is having such a resurgence! Some of my most treasured records are 7 inch singles, which I keep in a very special place in my bedroom.  

3) One hour of vinyl goodness... can you talk us through your selection for your 45/7 mix?

I wanted to do a showcase of some of the records that lie in my collection and put it all together in a somewhat coherent way. Some DJ’s like to only stay current and stick to just one sub-genre, but  I always try to incorporate a very broad range of music, just like if you see me DJing at a club or festival. This includes mixing the mainstream with the obscure, mixing old and new, and I wanted to see if I could link the mix together like a standard club mix rather than just simply going from Tune A to Tune B.

1) Tell us a bit about yourself and your record collection.

I've always been a music nerd, and I've always been obsessed with sharing the music I love with other people, from hogging the car stereo as a kid to making mixtapes for the 6 form common room at school, so djing felt like a natural trajectory for me. I started djing with vinyl when I was 16, mainly at house parties, and when I moved to London at 19 I managed to keep myself going through university with paid gigs. I got into radio a few years ago and now have a show on Resonance FM which I love. 
I've always loved older music, I was 60s/70s obsessed when I was a kid (I even insisted on having my bedroom painted avocado green), and I continue to be fascinated with music from the past, particularly old soul and funk and disco. You can dig and dig and keep discovering buried treasure, it's wonderful. 

2) 45/7 is all about celebrating the 7". Can you tell us a bit about what you love about the format.

They're compact, they're stylish, they're cool and they give you a sense of playing older tracks on their intended format which is kind of special. 

3) One hour of vinyl goodness... can you talk us through your selection for your 45/7 mix?

It was a delight to pick out my favourite tracks on 7 inch - I decided to stick to sweet soul with a bit of funk and threw in a few slower numbers I don't usually get to play out,
like the gorgeous 'Don't Let The Good Girls Go Bad' by Della Humphrey. A lot of these 7s were purchased on a trip I made around the southern states of the US a couple of 
years ago - the holy grail for soul 7s! I spent many sweaty afternoons in Memphis and New Orleans going through dusty boxes of 45s so it's lovely to have a chance to
put all that stuff together for this mix.

4) Where can people catch you / listen to your music? 

My radio show, the Honeydripper, goes out live on Resonance 104.4FM every Sunday at 4pm GMT. I gig 3-4 times per week and my listings are on my facebook page, facebook.com/djannefrankenstein,
