Over the years, Oliver Koletzki has continuously cited Berlin as a point of reference and, more importantly, a source of inspiration. Two of his albums Großstadtmärchen and Großstadtmärchen 2 have been a direct ode to the capital. Friedrichshain, one of Berlins vibrant districts, has always held a special place in Olivers heat. This is where he started out when he first moved to the city, and this is where he lives now. Schneeweiss, one of Friedrichhain's best and most loved restaurants, is just around the corner. Over the course of eight years, the stylish eatery has impressed many a Berlin foodie with its contemporary take on alpine cuisine and attention to detail.

Music is part of the experience here, which is no surprise due to one of the owners extensive background in Berlins club scene of the early days. Two prime Berliner power duos bring their creative forces together in their first joint production, after having previously collaborated on remix duties. 
Emerging from a dark lair overpassing techno and house, Dirty Planet finds the artists putting their collective stamp on the dance agenda, with Kruse & Nuernberg bringing forth their knack for aptly crafted melodies and Mat.Joe packing up dancefloor heat through rhythm and percussion.
Seems Real kicks off with a zippy synth sequence that plays around a perfect balance of melody and seductive rhythmics. The eerie vocal hook sets a dreamy ambiance as the cut unfolds brimming with subtle bleeps.
Aside from the bumping bassline that surfaces from the get-go, another element that’s instantly felt on Dirty Planet is the panting vocal sample. Laying a nervous mood from the first beats, the track explores a variety of frequencies by the way of percussive alternations filled with claves and clangs. 
With its united production efforts, Dirty Planet offers up two strapping tracks that bypass the brain and aim straight for the body.

Wrapping up a hugely successful summer of shows and releases on the likes of Toolroom, Definition and Glasgow Underground, Hamburg duo Piemont drive four hours due south to Halle: home of Monaberry and its consistently timeless, deep and evocative house signature.

A label where the groove takes the comfiest chair in the house and rich servings of atmosphere and funk are actively encouraged, Monaberry offers the perfect canvas for Piemont’s distinctive dreamy sound. As proved right here…

‘Spin Off’ is no re-run: a subtly jacking drum arrangement provides the perfect bed for gentle synth lines to ebb, flow and purr over the undulating bass pattern. Vapour trails linger behind, overlapping with their own counter textures to create an almost cosmic experience.

‘Ghetto Bird’ flips the bird with its deliciously formula-free bravado. Its tech groove is peppered with classic stabs, delicate arpeggios and mild traces of sax soul as we ride into oblivion with red face glee.

Remix-wise two of Monaberry’s finest apply their own twists to the tales: Nicolas Masseyeff toughens up the vibe of ‘Spin Off’. Here more emphasis is placed on a dubbier metallic bass tone and an overwhelming synth hook that hammers with beautiful insistency.

Finally Bebetta strips ‘Ghetto Bird’ down to a naked rhythm and re-clothes it with silkier, looser garments, each one hanging off the arpeggio that blossoms from muffled and textural to a full emotion-rich feature piece in a complex, sense blurring way.

Two star-lit originals. Two planet hopping remixes. Yet another beautiful moment in time and space from Monaberry.

Alex Niggemann’s new EP 'Hurricane' (Balance Music) follows up the AEON label boss & producer's recent success, the stunning ‘Balance Presents…’ compilation, which dropped in October 2016. 

The upcoming EP features the exclusive track 'Hurricane (Club Mix)’, alongside the original, a new original 'Silhouettes & Sparks', plus remixes from Deetron & Denis Horvat.

Niggemann is forever breaking new ground. Where the compilation allowed him to curate a story through the medium of 'the mix', ‘Hurricane’ showcases the beginning of a new chapter for his melancholic-pop-driven alter ego 'The Shadow Self'. Both original tracks on the release are emotive melodies where thoughtful composition and vocals are key. 

‘I have been working on music like this for a while,’ Alex says. ‘As an artist, it’s important to reinvent myself, explore uncharted territory and have a wider view of how music can sound and how differently you can do things. This EP mirrors the music that I listen to when I’m traveling or relaxing; having a break from 4x4 beats, which usually rule my world. This also inspires me when I come back to produce House/Techno. 

‘It’s great that I can use this platform to introduce my new project ‘The Shadow Self’ to show a different ‘me’ on a label that transcends musical borders and supports the freedom of music as art… as art doesn’t have borders.’

'Spanish UNER has built a high reputation around the globe and after many years he brings his huge talent back to Sincopat for an extraordinaire release. These three original tracks come accompanied an amazing twelve-minuted remix by 'il maestro' Luca Bacchetti.'Waters Above' opens the EP with a super special atmosphere full of dreamy pads and melodies. Exquisite notes are sounding in the magic breakdown in a theme that comes back even more organic that in the beginning. Luca Bacchetti takes the control for the remix elaborating a stunning composition worth of a film with different parts and passages: just the intro already tells you this is promising. This is sensual, eclectic but also notice the club-treatment. Second original propose from UNER is a bass-leading production called 'Firmament' where you can feel a beautiful treatment into a never- ending build up full of epic. Closing this electronic journey, we have the awesome 'Pieces' an absolutely golden downtempo track.'
