PHIST is a deep bass music producer and DJ out of Raleigh, North Carolina. He has been at the helm of his project since 2017. Equipped with unreleased music from his peers and his own original works spanning many different genres, listeners will find that nothing is off-limits within his style. You can expect a taste of deep dubstep, trap, reggae, drum & bass, garage, and more. His infatuation with musical history, as well as the nuances of soundsystem culture and community fostered by sound, has truly chiseled his exploratory and creative mind into the adept artist we all know and love today. PHIST is currently riding a propulsive momentum, continuously releasing music and getting booked with some of the nation’s greatest talents. Welcome to Through The Waves, Volume 2! This month’s journey takes a look a Experimental music. Eschewing traditional sounds and composition, today’s selections use noise as an instrument, explore the limits of oscillators, incorporate industrial sounds, and contain unusual composition. Moniker Prime is a Chicago-based Producer and DJ.  

His productions tend toward bass-heavy electronica, incorporating found sound and manipulated samples.  They span genres from lo-fi downtempo, bass house, techno, breaks, and more.  

As a selector, his sets often eschew genre adherence and focus instead on the feeling and atmosphere that the sounds create.
