This autumn, Monochrome is offering each month to one or several artists to discover their influences and inspirations through a forty-five minute to two hour recording. These three recordings will focus on Ambient, IDM and Dub-Techno.

Artist biography :

Native from south of France, Axymt. is a truly electronic music lover.
Vinyl collector since 2014, he have found his style in kind of very deep and atmospheric music. With the soul of a digger, he launch Axy Tmt YouTube channel where we can find last nicest music releases or some old forgotten treasures.

In 2018, he launch his collective called Somnium. His several performances at La Vallée Electrique and other locations, brought him to play with great artists such as VBC [Vibrance], 9beats, Ben Buitendijk, Fjader, Nems-b, Keikari, Headless Horseman...

Alexy Touloumet aka AXYMT is a seasoned DJ and digger with a passion for electronic music. He heads up the wonderful Atmos Sphaïra channel and is a member of the Lyon-based Monochrome collective alongside Kenny D, Distab , Minù Jr and Porunñ. He’s also one of the co-founders of Ouroboros, a collective who organise gigs and festival with big-name guests such as Forest Drive West. AXYMT delivers an hour of deep, mental, accelerated and psychedelic music, halfway between tribe, deep techno, trance and experimental, for an epileptic, nocturnal sonic journey that will revive your forest walks and endless afters.

In 2021, at the Positive Education festival, Axymt discovered Spekki Webu & Woody92. This set was a turning point for him, as the discovery of these fast mental vibrations opened a new door in his music.
During the 2023 edition of the Ouroboros festival, Axymt had the opportunity to experiment with this style on stage after A Strange Wedding's performance. The session that Axymt shares with us retains the spirit of that moment while incorporating the new discoveries made for this occasion.

For this episode, Axymt invites us to discover Hvergelmir.

In Norse mythology, Hvergelmir is described as a massive spring located in the realm of Niflheim, one of the Nine Worlds. Niflheim is known for its extreme cold and darkness, and Hvergelmir is said to be the coldest and darkest place within it.

Hvergelmir is considered the source of all living waters in the cosmos. It is the origin of eleven rivers called the Élivágar, which flow through Niflheim. These rivers eventually contribute to the creation of the primeval giant Ymir, who is the progenitor of the giants in Norse mythology.

According to some accounts, Hvergelmir is also home to the dragon Níðhöggr, who gnaws at the roots of the world tree Yggdrasil. The water from Hvergelmir is believed to nourish the roots of Yggdrasil, which helps sustain the entire cosmos.

In Norse cosmology, Hvergelmir holds significant importance as one of the primal forces of creation, embodying the concept of primordial chaos and the origin of life-giving waters in the universe.
