Mario Neha returns to Monog Records with the superb Synthension EP. Switzerland based DJ, producer Mario, boasts a wide and varied catalogue of releases over the years. He runs his own imprint called Inyan Music, releasing quality cuts at every turn. He first showed up here with his debut remix on Emocija EP by Jelly For The Babies & Buba. Great to see him back once again.

The release kicks off with the Original Mix of Synthension. We’re drawn into a deep, slow burning groover, filled with strange, mind-bending sounds and FX amidst a backdrop of tight beats and rhythmic percussions. The track tells a dark tale with injections of cosmic flair that will intrigue the listener, top-notch stuff. Walcott debuts on Monog with a solid remix of Synthension. Over the years, Walcott has been refining his sound and learning his trade. He has travelled the world, picking up ideas, moving between genres. Now, his sound incorporates diverse styles, bringing familiarity while never shying to go off the beaten path. Great to have him here. Walcott takes his interpretation to the stratosphere and beyond. A pacier affair, he focusses in on the surreal with beautifully rich and intertwining FX and synths. Driven by a strong bass groove and tight drum arrangement, this one will not disappoint. Life Is Dope is up next, sticking with the spacey themes that run through the EP. Smooth and deliberately calmer, the groove eases into your soul with its infectious melodies and uplifting quality. Sublime deep house, not to be missed. Solstice rounds out the release, with a deep, gritty vibe. Punchy kicks and crispy percussions lay the foundation for harsh FX and trippy synths to control the narrative. Sporadic bass plucks add a layer of warmth that draws you in. A solid slice for the late-night session.

Iman Deeper returns to Monog with the superb Closer To You EP. This one follows his last effort here, on remix duties for Dennis Allen’s Midnight Turn from the Summer of 2021. Iman left Iran to pursue his dreams and find his place in the musical world. In 2008 he settled in Berlin, where he continues his musical journey having spent time in several other cities around Europe and the Middle East. To date, he boasts a raft of releases on top labels and also runs his own imprint, Deep Locus Records with fellow artist Hubrist. In 2021 he launched his own label – Deed Music, which aims to bring together seasoned, as well as up-and-coming artists.

The release opens with the title track, Closer To You, which sets the scene for a trip deep into house with warm rolling grooves. Arpeggiated fragments and thick low-end basses are joined by enchanting vocals to create an emotive streak in the sound as gritty sequences add contrast. Walk Of The Walkyries is up next, delivering a solid groove that will definitely keep the late-night floors moving. A moody groover, punchy kicks and fluttering percussions create a flowing rhythm which lay the foundation for warm, subby basses and airy pads. Soft melodies sit in the background, contrasting with darker phrases beautifully. Rounding out the release, Haoma aka Behnam Zekavat marks his Monog debut with a tight remix on Walk Of The Walkyries. His musical journey began in the early 2000’s when he picked up a guitar. Haoma has been on the Iranian scene for over two decades and in 2021, he entered a new phase with his music being released on Deed Music, a place where he showcases his unique style. On the remix here, we’re treated to a solid workout on the floor thanks to chunky beats and flurries of exotic percussions. The track carries a superb rhythmic flow which is manifested in the cacophony of drums on offer. Subtle melodies add intrigue while darker elements deliver that introspective vibe.

Our name comes from the word "Monogamy", the state of having only one partner at any one time. In many cases, this word is used to refer specifically to marital monogamy and this is what we are about. We define Monogamy not as a death sentence but as an idea of sharing the same path together. Monog Records seeks to refine the concept and turn it into a “Musical Monogamy”: two individuals/parties with one shared music soul.

The owl is our mascot, our guide, and our loyal friend. This monogamous night hunter is a symbol of wisdom and mystic force. We believe that features of the owl lie closely with the values of Monog, and as such, it has become the symbol of our label.

Monog Records was created in 2010 by Joal and re-launched in 2018 by Bruno Otranto.

Monog do not follow any specific Electronic music trend. What matters to us is being able to support you by accepting who you are, the seeds you have sown in the past to get you where you are and with that you will continue to have the opportunity to freely express yourself through your music.
