DJ and producer Pysh marks his full debut on Monog with the fantastic Reborn EP which comes after his quality remix for Luis Bravo’s Comfort Zone in April 2018. Pysh is a unique artist with his own style of music, and sense of humour. He started to produce in 2009, and after a few months he released his first EP. His consistency and achievements resulted in rapid development and club performances. In 2014 he got a vinyl release on Einmusika and in the same year he opened the main stage at the Audioriver music festival. He has worked with many artists and DJ’s over the years, making a solid reputation among his peers and fans alike.

The original mix of Reborn intros with a real nice punchy kick which is laced with surreal atmospherics. The track features a dark, sultry vocal from Mary who adds a Bjork-esque twist to the sound. Deep droning basses are contrasted with very subtle sweet pianos while alien voices fade in and out. We’re treated to a deep proggy tech workout here that will not disappoint.

LA based DJ and producer Sam Jaspersohn debuts on Monog with a top-notch remix on Reborn. Sam was exposed to electronic music when he was 15 and he began to mix with vinyl since then. His career soon blossomed with a coast-to-coast following. He has received praise for tracks like Islands which featured on Digweed’s Bedrock 18-Signals compilation in 2016. His works have also been championed by a host of other top artists and he has appeared on top labels around the world. On the remix Sam takes us down the rabbit hole with a wondrous display of musical composition made up of deep, dark and lush tones. A solid drum section sets up a smooth rhythm while mesmerizing pads and sub shaking basses go to work. Mary’s vocal rings true throughout adding a beautiful organic flavour. An excellent track that is not to be missed.

Starkiller wastes no time in getting down to business. Right from the off we’re locked in to the hypnotic groove. A tight drum arrangement leads the way as a probing bassline grabs all the attention. Dark tones wash over the groove and are joined by super sweet piano melodies and a cacophony of arpeggios that weave through the sound effortlessly. A real quality slice of tech house that will be a welcome addition in any peak set.

Belarus born artist Kostya Outta debuts here with a wonderful remix on Starkiller. Kostya has a unique take on house music, he blends space age melodies with deep soulful grooves. His work is very much from an emotive standpoint, mesmerizing and deep and is supported worldwide. He plays regularly at festivals around Europe and you can hear his DJ sets on various radio stations each month. The remix opens with a solid chunky kick drum alongside cool melodic arpeggios that flutter through the track. Warm, bubbly basses add depth while bright crispy hi hats and rhythmic percussions keep the groove firmly in dance mode. The track oozes quality from start to finish making this an absolute must have for sure.

With the new "Sonar EP" by Konomo from Budapest, the Meeronauts go into the unknown parts of the ocean. The artist skillfully leads the listeners into the timeless space of enchanted sound impulses. The track "Who You Really Are" takes us into a distant world and carefully accompanies us on dubby sound carpets into other dimensions. On "Double Groove" Konomo then takes us to a land of longing and relaxation, providing a pleasant warmth with uplifting tones. Alessandro Crimi takes up this mood in the same way, but gives the track a spherical framework with his remix. Finally, "Valami" brings us back to the place of the beginning of the journey with a blissful inner peace of wonderful vocal facets and invites us to dream with its melancholic aura.

Given that Yoshitoshi’s roots are ingrained in house music, it’s only fitting to start the #YoshiClassics campaign with Eddie Amador’s “House Music”. Travels through misty soundscapes are just one of their trademarks. The french label established its sound through a close circle of friends - namely, Worakls, N’to & Joachim Pastor.

It’s now time to let some of the most powerful recent releases get re-interpreted through six exclusive remixes.

The Hungry gang took on each others work and also invited luminaries and friends of the label such as Oliver Koletzki, Einmusik and Boris Brejcha to provide a mix for the first in a series of upcoming remix EPs.

The New Violence crew head Stateside with their 59th edition, pulling in the deadly duo of Dead Space & Dateless. Between them the pair have clocked up releases on labels like Toolroom, Dirtybird, Snatch!, Glasgow Underground & Audiophile. Here they combine with two fierce originals supported with remixes from DJ Fronter, Fancy Inc & Hippocoon.

In The Mood kicks things off with some heavy drums and percussion right from the get go. Supplemented with a rolling bass and old skool synths this is a BIG track for big systems. DJ Fronter takes on the remix and strips back a little off the original taking things on a deeper, more hypnotic journey making clever use of the original's spoken vocals and synths. Psychedelic World is up next and is a pure thumper. Mixing heavyweight beats with monstrous stabs this one is sure to do the business on the dance floor. Rounding up the package, Brazilian boys Fancy Inc partner up with Hippocoon. The boys deliver exactly the bass driven, energy filled workout as you would expect. using snippets of the vocal alongside sizzling hi hats the track bubbles along beautifully.

Ukrainian producer Lessovsky makes his debut on Plaisirs Sonores Records by delivering a top quality deep emotional track. On remix duty, Zone+, who already released on great labels like All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep and Tale & Tone, lightens the track by removing some shakers and presenting a more classic deep house version of the track. Last but not least label bosses Hicky & Kalo put their proggy touch on New Ritual by creating a groovy and driving version of the track.

Melodic maestro French-Canadian producer @gabrhome and the versatile @evrenfurtuna use their different cultural backgrounds to create an evocative, watery melodic exploration named after that traveller in two worlds, the salmon, swimming now against, now with the current, in waters both sweet and salt. ‘Salmo Salar’ has a sizzling summer touch. Its intro blends mingling mood-inducing chords in voices and strings, taking us underwater before a light but determined beat kicks in, spangled with piano arpeggios and snatches of melody as the spiritual vocals continue to evoke a watery vibe. The sustained breakdown surprises with a new clarinet tune, almost middle eastern, marking a shift of phase, after which a freer, jazzy feel predominates. ‘Salmo Salar’ launches on Saisons on July 10.

Monog Records is a music label based in Berlin, which aims to create a unique connection with it’s artists and their music. Our name comes from the word "Monogamy", the state of having only one partner at any one time. The owl is our mascot, our guide, and our loyal friend. This monogamous night hunter is a symbol of wisdom and mystic force. We believe that features of the owl lie closely with the values of Monog, and as such, it has become the symbol of our label.

Monog Records was created in 2010 by Joal and re-launched in 2018 by Bruno Otranto.

Monog do not follow any specific Electronic music trend. What matters to us is being able to support you by accepting who you are, the seeds you have sown in the past to get you where you are and with that you will continue to have the opportunity to freely express yourself through your music.
