I was sitting in the terminal waiting for my ride...was a young man, sitting next to me talkin 'bout his bride
said - when I was a kid I got in all kinds of trouble...couldn't tell me nothin'...
and my sufferin weren't subtle...
I spent 6 months in jail...
for doin nothin'...mad at my daddy...for all that sufferin...
but he was damn near in tears, said with sufferin there's gain...and if you ain't learned nothin'...son
from all that sufferin and pain...then that failure is mine...cause you know I'd die tryin...to hold up your line...so,
today I'm a man...goin back to my love...
she's right over there, waitin in that car
goin BC or bust...and daddy's still living...so proud of his son
cause with sufferin there's lessons
and man, sometimes that lesson
...is love
