Thin, weedy, with his own afro hair that is a kind of tribute to the black roots of a sound shared by funk and house, which make him look like a mushroom cloud! That’s the way in which we love to describe him while he is playing sacred and deep grooves. @giacomopellegrino is part of that particular category of people that really knows very well the meaning of the word passion. He received his “Calling” to djing when he was only fourteen. Son of a musician, following his father around to every concert, visiting the most important clubs and venues of Sicily. Thanks to that experience, he developed a true passion for music and clubbing and, later, for djing. Despite still being too young to perform at night as a DJ, Giacomo started to arrange a few shows for friends, playing sets focused
on dance music from the 70's and the 80's, his first musical love. A few years later, his style became a “monolith” of dance and funk, house and tech. Giacomo has his hand in every aspect of the music scene. He also founded his own record label called @detroitside, which is dedicated to the very passionate vinyl and DJ community. A label that promotes quality over quantity in the house and techno segment. Artist's such as @delano_smith,@bassaclan, @dixia-sirong, @enricomantini, Franck Roger, @julien-sandre, @nick-beringer, @monika-ross, Moreon & Baffa, Ocu, @samofdelaphine! have all released tracks on his imprint. Giacomo doesn't stop there though as he cultivates his own nights in the local area that are ardent about presenting some of the best dance music around in the most optimal and premier environments possible. Still, Giacomo finds time to be a highly regarded producer with releases on a myriad of top-class labels like Purism Wave, Signatune Records, Carac Records, AvantRoots, Vibe Experience, hello strange, Deep Freaks, Greyscale records among others. Heavily influenced by classic sounds of yesterday while thinking about the future of electronic music has inevitably crossed over to his production side working in a heavily analog and modified setup. Analog Four, Roland SH101, Korg Electribe, Korg Minilogue and Jomox Alpha Base are the main pieces he uses. Processing and effects duties come courtesy of Lexicon and Boss while his 24 track Allen Heath console fine tunes the final product for last step before mastering. This is just the foundation of what has been and where Giacomo is currently. In the near future
expect big things from Giacomo Pellegrino, he is just hitting his stride.

Inspired by the techno sound of Frankfurt in the early 90s (Harthouse, Eye Q etc.) and the many good parties, Reitzklang started djing techno and trance in 1994.
Later, he focused on psychedelic trance. For the last 20 years he has concentrated on techno, progressive house and dub techno. He has been working as a producer for a year now.

About:
Brandon Barker, is a techno producer/DJ from Los Angeles, California. Normally he's producing and mixing four on the floor techno and it is his  main focus as an artist. However, recently he's been very inspired to go away from the four on the floor pattern and explore the other areas of ambient and instrumental techno music. He had the idea for this mix after witnessing a solar eclipse in the city where he lives. This event inspired him to create a soundtrack for navigating space and time and his feeling that he has done perfectly in creating this mix. To capture this special moment.

In his own words he also descibes: " I am so honored to be working with Deep Electronics because my favorite ambient producer and DJ, Mint4000 has released for Deep electronics. MARRØN, my biggest inspiration for producing and mixing four on the floor style techno, has also released a mix for Deep Electronics. Be on the lookout for me in the future! "

In this third edition of our ‘Who’s You’ podcast, Yuka discusses her approach:

“As a DJ I listen a lot of new and old music. Usually I sort my collection by stories in folders. some folders I use for dance floors and others for podcasts. This mix is one of those folders. Rhis is my favourite one and of course i choose it to introduce myself. This music has a depth, interesting rhythms and psychedelic sounds - that’s what I love in techno music! There are shamanic drums, velvet basslines and magic. This inspires me, makes me loose the ego and become the music. This is the mystic story from beginning till end.”

Deep Electronics is presenting it's 11th special podcast. These special releases are unique sets created by unique artists. The 11th chapter is created by Funky Jeff. He created a mix with Basic Channel only tracks. A must for every Basic Channel fan and listener.

About:
Basic Channel is a techno production duo and record label, composed of Moritz von Oswald and Mark Ernestus, that originated in Berlin in 1993. The duo became known in the mid-1990s for a series of vinyl-only releases under various aliases including Basic Channel, Maurizio, Phylyps, Quadrant, and Cyrus. The original nine releases under the Basic Channel name would draw on minimalism and the sparse production techniques of dub reggae, becoming influential and pioneering works of minimal and dub techno.

The duo set up a studio in Berlin on Paul-Lincke-Ufer, in a building which was eventually to house Mark Ernestus’ distributing company and shop Hard Wax, and the label's mastering studio Dubplates & Mastering, set up to ensure a desired dynamic quality for the vinyl.

The Basic Channel imprint ceased business in 1995 (apart from two releases almost a decade later that were originally issued on Carl Craig's Planet E label), but were followed by a string of similar labels. Main Street handled Chicago house-inspired releases; Chain Reaction released non-Von Oswald/Ernestus productions and helped launch the careers of dub techno producers such as Monolake and Porter Ricks.

Basic Channel has also shown a strong affinity for Jamaican music. The Rhythm & Sound label imprint saw the duo's sound move closer to dub reggae. Frequent Rhythm & Sound collaborator Paul St. Hilaire set up the subsidiary False Tuned in 2003.

Basic Channel has released two compilation CDs which collect edits of their 12" releases: BCD (1995) and BCD-2 (2008)
