Rumbling funky madness trembles with haste and in your face, conveying a feeling of being chased and hunted down. Primal roars of panic alternate with a steady constant pulse of funk keeping you moving until the end. It’s their most club ready track to date and we’re proud to unleash its mayhem on you.

Emerging Netherlands-based pairing Parallells will land on Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels imprint for the first time next month. Gifting us an emotive offering in Ashes of Snow (The Rebirth Of The Phoenix), it acts as a tribute to their favourite Portuguese beach club, Yamba, which was tragically destroyed by a fire last year. 

The brother’s spoke on what inspired them: “In May 2021 a devastating fire destroyed Yamba, one of our favourite beach clubs in Caparica (Lisbon), where we often performed. Yamba’s journey through the flames has become an inspiration to us and so we decided to compose Ashes of Snow. It represents the story of the phoenix as it finally rises from its ashes and morphs into a new form, with renewed wings taking flight towards a new adventure. On The Banks of The River is a continuation of Ashes of Snow, where love flows from Lisbon’s river to the Atlantic Ocean for a night full of emotions in Caparica.”

The title track hits a wonderful sweet spot between electronic elements and organic instrumentals. It feels raw and authentic, blending saxophone segments, electric guitar tones and a jazzy-like backbone to form a cut that feels ripe for both sunrise or sunset. On The Banks of The River comes next, manifesting as a more toughened dance music number thanks to deep bass components whilst still retaining the boys’ natural sound. Rounding off proceedings is Clive Henry, who’s remix of Ashes of Snow flies the flag for contemporary minimal. Weighty kicks reside next to delicate hats before ethereal synths are brought in, creating a romanian inspired piece that you can’t help but dance to.

Their music is also heavily influenced by world culture, a feat that led them to launch their video series concept A Day In. Through this, they immerse in diverse cultures around the world, capturing sounds from their day-to-day life and unfold the story through the medium of music. Clive Henry is a linchpin of house music as we know it today. Cutting his teeth as one half of the tribal house duo Peace Division, he has held a long-term residency at Circoloco, Ibiza and has racked up bookings at standout venues and festivals including Printworks and Houghton to name a few.

As longtime inhabitants on our wish list as remixers, we’re happy to introduce the two brothers from Parallelle to Moodfamily. Thomas & Julien climbed on board and poured their inspiration over Moon’s Voyager’s ‘Flowers for Her’. 
A lovely Berlin infused electronic dance floor funk feel flows through Moon’s soothing voice. The quirky synth lines from the original track remain intact in a more powerful jacket, stitched, lined and painted by the duo from Amsterdam.

The pair behind the Ouïe label, Acid Pauli & Nico Stojan, collaborate again on a new release on their own label - Vola. 

The title track fits perfectly with their long-established signature sound of intimate and psychedelic electronic music for the more leftfield leaning music lovers. 

This track features a spongy rhythm, accompanying samples seemingly draw from far and wide, creating a lush and meditative feeling.

Finding ground in Ghent, a small yet creative and lively town in Belgium, Moodfamily runs a record label and booking agency. Having emerged in 2014, it has sprouted from existing friendships and a mutual understanding and appreciation of electronic music. We represent artists pursuing their own unique sound, be it within their own tracks, visual productions or DJ-sets. 

Most important, the Moodfamily is telling you their story. The fruits of a long and devoted journey. We aim to reach people with our dedication to evoke a certain feeling. A particular mood.

Thomas and Julien are Dutch brothers from South of France. They propose either Hybrid DJ or live acts cutting from Jazz, House & Techno  mixing several genres while keeping this uplifting, dirty and groovy feel. 

Passionates in authentic sounds, they produce their music through field recordings. Their video concept "A Day In” translates cultures through field recordings and collaborations with local and traditional musicians. They already have concluded first collaborations with Gnawa musicians in Morocco, Huichol tribe musicians in Mexico, Icelandic choir, and musicians from Osaka, Bengalor, Fiji Island, Bangkok and more. 

With releases on Crosstown Rebels, DGTL, Sapiens, Bar 25 and their own imprint, Klassified Records, the two brothers also run the Klassified Studios, a co-creative space in Amsterdam.
