Be the Calm in the Storm

This guided meditation with Mooji is offered in honour and celebration of the life of the beloved and revered Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. It was shared as part of the A Call to Awakening online retreat with Mooji taking place from 19-23 January.  

A most extraordinary spiritual teacher and peace activist, Thich Nhat Hanh touched and inspired millions of lives with his teachings and guidance. Known for his peaceful nature, tender compassion and bright wisdom, he is an immense force for peace and healing in the world. A true bodhisattva, he brings out the authentic radiance of Buddhism—we honour his presence and all that he imparted to the world.


Known as Thay to his followers, he began to transition at midnight, and passed away peacefully at 1.30am on January 22, 2022 at Từ Hiếu Temple in Huế, Vietnam, at the age of 95. Our love, prayers and blessings are with him and his Sangha at this profound time.  

"This body is not me; I am not caught in this body, I am life without boundaries, I have never been born and I have never died. Over there the wide ocean and the sky with many galaxies all manifests from the basis of consciousness. 

Since beginning-less time I have always been free. Birth and death are only a door through which we go in and out. Birth and death are only a game of hide-and-seek. So smile to me and take my hand and wave good-bye. Tomorrow we shall meet again or even before. We shall always be meeting again at the true source. Always meeting again on the myriad paths of life."

Practical Guidance: From Person to Presence

"Some of the ideas I am sharing here go against much of what is spoken about regarding Twin Flames. I want to say upfront that I do believe and experience the concept of soul family as true. That individuals may feel a certain strong connection to others that goes beyond this one lifetime. I also believe and experience as true that some individuals may have a pre-incarnation agreement to meet and to relate and work together in some form. This agreement may relate to birthing star children or it may be some other form of service. Saying that I feel much that has been spoken about the twin flame connection is delusional and harmful. 

But before we dive too deeply into this let us look at the general idea about twin flames. The general idea is that Twin Flames are the two halves of a soul found in two individuals. This is why there is such an intense connection that feels unearthly when these two halves meet. A characteristic of such a connection is that it is challenging and healing. Due to the mirroring nature of the Twin Flame connection there can be a deep and intense chemistry and love. This mirroring can also reflect each other’s deepest fears, and shadows....."

Om Namo Narayanaya || 108 TIMES || Mantra to Acknowledge the Divine Within

MEANING OF OM NAMO NARAYANAYA MANTRA
It is a mantra of Lord Vishnu. This mantra is also known as Asthakshari Mantra and first appeared in the 'Sama Veda'.

- Cosmic Sound of 'OM' : The primordial sound vibration which encompasses all of the universe, energy and consciousness.
- NAMO : Namo is derived from sanskrit word 'nam' which means salutations or bowing down in gratitude.
- Narayanaya : This word has complex roots - Nara means water and 'Ayana' means a resting place.. It is also a symbolic representation of our inner self.


BENEFITS OF OM NAMO NARAYANAYA - 108 TIMES
Chanting this mantra leads to the experience of divine consciousness within us and a sense of deep eternal peace. As a means of humbling the ego, the Vedic tradition recommends reciting om namo narayanaya 108 times, twice a day for 40 days.
