Alex Benitez is a multidisciplinary artist from Paraguay. Working across film, music, and visual art, his practice blends personal roots with a global perspective. As a DJ and curator under the alias “sorry i’m late”, Alex blends sounds influenced by NYC and Chicago house, as well as disco, funk and world music to craft emotionally resonant sets that move across genres and geographies. He is also a resident of Room Service International, a New York-based collective using music and culture to build community across borders. His visual art, rooted in a signature doodling style, intersects with his film and sound work to create layered, cross-disciplinary narratives grounded in culture and connection.

It's a full expression of things that live in my head. 

The songs names come from words that are real words and names that I think are cool. Most are places I'd love to visit.......Some day.......

My goal with this project was to create songs with odd break times and odd time signatures. To explore what happens when I step outside the realms of my normal structure and re-introduce an element of surprise. I'd like to spawn the new genre of OddBreaks.......Thats what I call it.....You'll probably call it something else......I'm eager to see.....

I've teamed up with Peter Goode to bring you a visual in representation.
