SWITCHMATRIX 4x4 test  AE Modular

I was trying to get a feeling like Mea Culpa off the album, My Life in the Bush of Ghosts by David Byrne and Brian Eno.

Then I got seduced by Low pass gates, as usual (must resist buying more of them - or perhaps make some?)

I set up the SWITCHMATRIX 4x4 firstly, with just the transistor radio going in input 1, and the 4 outputs each going to its own Mixconsole input and panned left, mid-left, mid-right, and right.

Then I made presets so that preset 1 went to hard left, preset 2 not connected (silence), preset 3 both hard left and mid-left together (loud/emphasis feel), then repeated that basic pattern with lots of unconnected presets.

Then, I fed the output of Noise through 2CVTOOL to scale and offset the voltage range so that, when fed to 2S&H,  it would only provide a range of voltages that would select the 15 or so presets I had set up.

then, I fed other sounds in the other inputs and switched them to other outputs, sometimes in pairs, sometimes not connected, and save the modified presets accordingly.

The overall effect is that each sound jumps between the speakers and is sometimes louder (when fed to two mixer inputs at once) or softer.

I think the next step will be to feed some tracks out the 2nd fx send/return to a wave-folder or maybe the delay with feedback for other random variation.

La orquesta juvenil de Minnesota, Estados Unidos, dirigida por Mark Rusell Smith homenajeo a la música Argentina con el Clásico Malambo de la Suite "La Estancia" de Alberto Ginastera.
La orquesta fue creada en 1972 y reúne a los mejores estudiantes de las Ciudades Gemelas, constituidas por Minneapolis y Saint Paul, en el estado de Minnesota, Estados Unidos. La agrupación provee una rigurosa e inspiradora experiencia orquestal para músicos jóvenes. Además de conciertos anuales, con actuaciones en el Orchestra Hall, Ordway Center y Ted Mann Concert Hall, es reconocida también por su historia y variedad de giras internacionales, entre ellas su participación en el Festival Internacional de Música y Danza de Granada, España.

El director de la Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies nació en Phoenix, Arizona y se graduó en la Escuela Juilliard y en el Instituto Curtis de Música.

Prokofiev Scythian Suite - Curtis Orchestra, Sergiu Celibidache, cond.  Feb. 27, 1984.  This was the last work on the concert and, as an encore, the orchestra reprised the work's second movement, which brought down the house.  The orchestra and conductor got a standing ovation that lasted nearly a half hour.  In the 80s, NYC audiences were STILL knowledgeable enough to be able to distinguish among mediocre, good, and great and respond accordingly.  This evening's performances were outstanding by any measure, and the audience was most likely more knowledgeable than most.  I can't imagine that such a performance as this by a conservatory orchestra had been heard of - at least to my knowledge - by anyone and I'm sure the folks 10 minutes away at Juiliard felt, for once, distinctly second in line.
