I felt blessed to spend my birthday reconnecting with the piano (and myself) ... diving deeply into one of the most profound musical expressions of human sorrow ever - Chopin's E minor prelude, which I hadn't practiced for years, but have recently felt moved to revisit. Now I hope to offer this as some kind of beauty or solace in the wake of the TOTALLY senseless killings in Charleston ... it is my belief that offering beauty in the face of tragedy is the most skillful response I can muster, so I humbly share my recording of this timeless piece...

New Sacred Music by Simon Reece de Sousa influenced by Latin, Persian, Indian music as well as the European choral tradition. Simon has lived on four continents Europe, Africa, Latin America and now India. He has drawn musical inspiration from these and other world cultures as well as from different musical traditions, particularly classical, jazz and sacred music.
        
The range of instruments he plays is equally varied: sitar (from India), duduk (Armenia), charango (South America), santoor (Persia), Celtic harp, Spanish guitar and viola.

Joined by his wife Carla, he has recently finished his fifth album, "Dancing in Rapturous Contemplation". The album contains pieces ranging from the serene and ethereal to the joyous and ecstatic.
