With 5 studio albums under his belt and hoards of unreleased original music ill.GATES is known for unforgettable live sets peppered with improvised finger drumming and original visuals.

The SARU (Sonic Art Research Unit) provides a forum for dialogue between the fields of Experimental Composition and Sound Art; including electroacoustic, language based composition, interdisciplinary and site-specific practices, field recording and soundscape studies. SARU curates the annual sound festival audiograft; supports the development of online projects including Sound Diaries and Found Soundscape and programmes symposia, performances and exhibitions. SARU is supported by a community of practitioners.

Michael Northam's (a.k.a. mnortham) artistic trajectory has been a gradual process extending from early actionistic performances to current sound actions, field recordings and compositions. Northam explores the avenue of direct electroacoustic improvisation, solo and with a variety of collaborators. His many 'sound actions' have taken place at venues throughout Europe and North America. Since his first CD was released in 1993, he has consistently produced works that give an opportunity for the listeners to challenge and examine themselves-exploring ideas of place on "Stomach of the Sky", qualities of weather on "Coyot", and perceptions of microscopic worlds on "From Within the Solar Cave". Similar such ideas have formed the basis of his installations such as "Entering Molecular Streams' (Observatori festival, Valencia, Spain 2000) and "Circulating Phases" (Klangturm, St. Pölten, Austria 2001).

Since 2007, he has been focusing on acoustic and more simplified instrumentation (mountain dulcimer, shakuhachi and voice) - which has been explored with projects such as Kodama (http://octpia.com/kodama/).

Sebastian Lexer’s musical life is focused on free improvisation and the experimental. The role of technology has become an increasingly integral part in his music best reflected in his creation of and performances with the Piano+, an electroacoustic extension to the acoustic piano. His solo CD Dazwischen and various projects with various musicians show the exiting sound-worlds explored ‘in between’ the acoustic piano and the electroacoustic modification thereof.

Sebastian works freelance as a musician, audio engineer and producer, interactive software developer and lecturer. A regular performance schedule have included concerts and radio broadcast in Europe and the US.
