Bottlesmoker produces self made instrument with a bending circuit process. Angkuy and Nobie love toy musical instruments such as Glockenspiel, Hand Bell, Melodica, and any toys that produces any sounds like Toy Phones, Radio, Nintendo DS. Angkuy and Nobie also capable to produce and combine different sounds from different instrument as a harmony. Beside that, Bottlesmoker too create a custom music instrument such as Noise Box, Theremin, 8 Step Sequencer, and those facts make Bottlesmoker produce such a characterized sounds that no other musicians have. 

In their musical creation process, Bottlesmoker has inspired a lot by musicians such as Lullatone, Dan Deacon, and Tidy Kid. Also Angkuy and Nobie too inspired by their environment and surroundings, with this, their music has become one personal, intimate sanctuary, that successfully transferred to their audience. Like a happy place where you do your daily activities, a home, a company to sleep to, to ride to, to read to, to make art to, etc.

Terinspirasi dari kebangkitan musik karinding tahun 2008, The Devil and The Deep Blue Sea hadir untuk ikut mewarnai eksplorasi musik ini. Tak sekedar memainkan karinding secara tradisional, The Devil and The Deep Blue Sea memainkannya bersama gitar, ukulele, keyboard, bass, drum, biola, marakas, tamborin, memainkan lagu-lagu ciptaan sendiri, dengan warna suara vokal yang khas.
The Devil and The Deep Blue Sea mulai ada tahun 2013. September 2013, Kimung dan Mitha, merekam empat lagu di Storn Labs. Saat itu mereka memakai nama Duo Eddans untuk projek demo tersebut.  Januari 2014, Kimung dan Mitha memulai proses rekaman di Studio DNA bersama engineer Firman dan Hendra. Tak lama rekaman berjalan, Mitha menamai band ini The Devil and The Deep Blue Sea. Awalnya simpel : karena personilnya hanya  berdua : Kimung sebagai “The Devil” dan Mitha sebagai “The Deep Blue Sea”—dan juga saat itu band ini berencana merekam dan menyertakan lagu “Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea” ciptaan Cab Calloway tahun 1930 ke dalam album rekaman ini.
Mitha mengartikan The Devil and The Deep Blue Sea sebagai “Dua sisi yang tampak bertolak belakang, tapi sama sekali tidak destruktif. Ia tradisonal tapi modern, konservatif tapi berakulturasi, simpel tapi kompleks, sendu tapi riang, afirmatif tapi interogatif, minor tapi eksplor, aku tapi kamu, aneh tapi biarin :p Ia tidak berusaha menjembatani atau menyatukan dua hal yang berbeda supaya menjadi suatu keutuhan. Ia hanya merayakan gelap-terangnya kehidupan dengan cara menerima dan menjalani keduanya dengan hati yang lapang.”
The Devil and The Deep Blue Sea adalah Mitha (gitar, ukulele, vokal), Kimung (karinding, celempung, kacapi awi, terbang, ukulele), dan David (bass, gitar, ukulele). Band ini kini sedang merekam tujuh lagu untuk album perdananya : “If Someday”, “How Could It Be, Girl?”, “Simple Things”, “Senandung Bisu”, “Sister”, satu lagu berbahasa Prancis, dan “Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea”. Mereka juga dibantu Ade Muir (bas), Gebeg (drum), Elang (keyboard), Tyo (tarawangsa), Pam (terbang), Pey (saksofon), Uus Idrus (flute), dan Manda (biola) dalam penggarapan rekaman ini.
