Lately I've been playing with a different approach to sound making - using a bunch of sine waves to create subtle but intricate rhythms in the sounds. You can hear frequencies coming in and out and sometimes hearing frequencies that emerge as the result of some simple waves colliding with each other.

For the 20th Samurai Red Seal 12" we will welcome the grand master of breakbeats for his debut with Samurai Red Seal. 

Paradox now appears rarely outside his own labels so we are honoured to have him as a special guest on Samurai Red Seal. 

Paradox was an artist we were pursuing for some time, and to say we were pleased with the resulting 12" is an understatement of the highest order. 

'Scorpius' / 'Crate Logic' is released on 25.02 on 12" and digital with a limited VIP Marbled Vinyl edition of 100. All vinyl versions come housed in a full artwork dedicated sleeve designed around the ethos and theme of the 12", reflecting the dusty crate groove and highlighting the lost artform of 'crate digging' in modern DnB. 

But for now, please enjoy a very special edition of the Samurai Music podcast from one of the most influential figures in the history of Drum and Bass / Jungle as he takes you on a narrated tour through both old and new music and drops some breakbeat knowledge at the same time.
