Jackson McNamara, better known as Makk, is a Naarm/Melbourne producer & DJ, establishing himself in the local dance music scene. 

House in techno and pure groove are some words to describe the nature of Makk’s productions and mixes. With a knack for swinging basslines, hard hitting drums and groovy & dreamy chords, Makk presents all these sounds for the second instalment of our Mortimore Mix series 💖

Dylan Fogarty is a Dublin based artist who’s on the forefront of a new wave of highly talented young artists who’ve rediscovered the old school sound of the 90’s and 00’s era of Techno and combine it with contemporary aesthetics and producing methods to create a new, yet very familiar sound – stripped back and loop driven, yet irresistibly groovy and funky.

Dylan has been taking his sound from the studio to dancefloors, securing gigs both internationally and locally supporting the likes of Dart, NTBR and Trym. 

Although the young artist is only just beginning his musical journey, he’s already got a wealth of support and releases under his belt on a number of VA compilations and labels such as the Canadian based PHTM, Concrete Berlin, Groovecore United and Aktiv to name a few.

Black Dave has had a strong presence in Naarms dance scene, playing across most of Melbournes most iconic venues like @revolverupstairs and @newguernica, as well as being part of @marination__ and @altitudeeventsau. Dave has also supported the likes of blk., subjoi, Luke Hovey as well as Beau Didier, proving he has truely carved a name for himself in Naarms dance scene. Dave’s tracks have also been making waves recently on Soundcloud both through his self-release and various labels including HOUZ, PULZAR & a new release out on @transition_ofc just today‼️🔊

For his Mortimore Mix, Dave has delivered us some punchy groovers with techno, hard groove and a sprinkling of trance as well. Packed with heaps of heavy hitters, this mix is definitely not one to miss. 🚨🤗

He is well known for his versatility where he is constantly blending in various styles and BPMs, from new and old sounds. He takes musical inspiration from a diverse array of styles so be sure to expect a bit of everything from him.

On the producing front, Dave has also built together a collection of his own music. With releases on HOUZ, Transition, Dionysian Mysteries as well as Deadline Records, his music continues to be played by many across the globe.

Wanting to do things a little differently, Peggy offered to take on our 189th Truancy Volume exploring her more downtempo and chill-out picks. Coming in at just under an hour Peggy works her way through tracks by Erykah Badu, hip-hop classics by Black Star, dub from Rhythm and Sound and low BPM groovers from the likes of Wolf Müller and Larry Heard: "I started making this mix a year ago and have been adding tracks and making changes to it since. Sometimes I really enjoy making mixes with tracks that I usually don't play in club but with the nice home listening stuff I like to listen to when I need break from dance music. It features a lot of my favourite artists, legends like Patrick Cowley, Haroumi Hosono, Larry Heard, Mos Def and Erykah Badu, who are all big inspirations of mine.  The way it has been put together means the tracks are sequenced in a way that is slightly different than how I would put them in a DJ set, and shows a little bit more of my personal music taste than the club-style mixes people have heard from me before.  I hope you enjoy it!"
