Florian Kruse & Hendrik Burkhard present TheGround Dediction 

Those with a keen ear for the ebbs and  ows of the underground scene will be well aware of the the emergence of Florian Kruse’s (@floriankruse) and Hendrik Burkhard’s (@hendrik-burkhard) TheGround project (@the_ground_official). Kruse is of course well known for his extensive career in underground house music in the German capital, but connecting with Burkhard in 2015 took him to a different level. The guys got together in 2016 to create this body of work, building on their shared chemistry and artistic compatibility. The result is 'Dediction' - an album that showcases exactly what is getting people so excited about this project.

Kicking off with the emotive and epic intro 'Sirens Call', the album soon clicks into gear with lead single 'Homeless Hearts'. The track exemplifies the duo’s effect on each other - the slick, nuanced and spacy production gives way to a powerful groove, providing the perfect backing for Burkhard’s dreamy vocal. 'Undercover' keeps things rolling, thick with minor chord synths flourishes and punchy drums. Two of last year’s standout tracks - 'Crack in the Wall' (feat. Mi.li.an) and 'Going Against The Grain' are included here with radically new versions - both moving and atmospheric pieces that defines the album’s sense of beautiful melancholia. Co-written by Raphael Hofman 'Silence' occupies a similar space while 'Through The Darkness' feat. Saccao (@saccaodj) comes with a more direct approach - a powerful tech-house workout featuring incredible synth programming and moments of pure euphoria. 'Creature' also brings the heat with a thick growling bass and precise, arpeggiated synth lines that cut through the mix like lasers. Rounding out the album is 'Falling' (also featuring the vocal prowess of Mi.li.an) - yet another moment that finds a balance between the pure release of the dancefloor and the dreamy, woozy feel Kruse and Burkhard seem to tap into with every release.
Fittingly, the last word is given to another sublime collaboration - Kingdom Of Crumbling Walls features Vincenzo (@vincenzo_official) & Mi.li.an alongside Kruse and Burkhard, elegantly showcasing the power of their emotional, melodic songwriting.

Phil Martyn - Storm (Cut) / Parquet Recordings

Originally part of the successful "Summer Particles 2018" compilation, Trilucid and Phil Martyn found success with "Gone". Now featuring as a full release, the original track is joined by remixes from Brazilian and French artists.

A growing artist with a passion for "awakening evolving minds", Demitros and sometime collaboration partner, Dante Pippi, are rising stars in the Brazilian underground dance scene. Bursting onto the scene in December 2016 with "Demogorgon" for The Alien Gate, Demitros has since gone on to feature heavily for Particles. July 2017 marked a debut for the label with the twin-track "Cosmos", while February 2018 saw the outstanding "Quantum Tunneling" with high profile remixes from Kastis Torrau and Nicolas Rada that then saw the track featured in the Visceral compilation series. 

Joining forces with fellow countryman Dante Pippi in November 2018, "When You Get There" saw two new original productions combined with remixes from Pole Folder and Imran Khan. An August 2018 remix of Pole Folder himself is now joined by a superb reworking of "Gone" as Demitros and Dante Pippi take the elements from the original and shape them in new musical directions that sparkle with new musical riffs and counterpoint melody. A driving beat and strong percussion give further depth to an impressive new reworking.

French star, Rick Pier O'Neil, needs no introduction to the underground music fraternity. An iconic figure whose illustrious career has seen him work with such household names as Donna Summer and Stevie Wonder for the likes of Sony Music and Motown, his entrance into the world of progressive house has seen the Frenchman amass over 1000 production credits. Under the umbrella of his own RPO and Garbage Records, several hundred tracks have enlightened a growing fanbase with a distinctive and successful sound that has seen his work featured on the likes of Bonzai Progressive, JOOF and Clubsonica Records. The expertly curated "One Side of the Underground" series has seen Rick Pier O'Neil make his mark on Proton Music, while his work for Particles has seen a clutch of releases in collaboration with Desaturate.

Thus, September 2015's "Spirals" and July 2016's "Crouch / Cursed" EPs have kept O'Neil at the forefront of the scene with remixes of Kastis Torrau and Donatello and Nicolas Rada showcasing his genuine skill as a remixer. Taking on "Gone", the Rick Pier O'Neil remix is an expertly crafted affair that creates a link with the original through a dark and driving bassline that provides a menacing touch. Clever melodic touches light up the pulsating rhythmic framework hinting at the phrasing laid down by Trilucid and Phil Martyn and extended by a raft of immaculate additional production material. The result is another Rick Pier O'Neil masterstroke.

Remixes from Demitros and Dante Pippi and Rick Pier O'Neil find "Gone" very much part of the here and now.

GRAZZE returns to BeatFreak with the EP “Beyond Her Farewell”

The Spanish producer’s new release on D-Formation’s label includes  remixes by Betoko, Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic and D-Formation.

GRAZZE, without rushing but at a good pace, is establishing himself as one of the most prolific Spanish producers in the current scene. Over the last year we’ve been able to see how his effort and dedication have turned into releases on labels such as Anjunadeep, Glasgow Underground, Armada Electronic Elements, ZEHN Records, Einmusika and BeatFreak. 

GRAZZE couldn't have had a better start to 2020. He made his debut on Zerothree with the EP “In Our Hearts/Hesze” just a few weeks ago, and after that, he released the track “Blessivini” on Anjunadeep. Now, in  February, he returns to D-Formation’s label: BeatFreak. The EP’s title is “Beyond Her Farewell” and it is composed of three original tracks and three remixes. “GraceMoh” takes us to science fiction atmospheres through its infectious rhythm and captivating vocals. “Valentia” immerses us in more ethereal lands thanks to its subtle and suggestive nature that grows in complexity as it develops. And lastly, “Beyond Her Farewell”, a track that doesn’t stop evolving and transforming, formed byseveral ups and downs. 

Regarding remixes, D-Formation chooses “GraceMoh” and takes it to deeper and more intense spaces using a skilled control of the deepest frequencies. Michael & Levan with Stiven Rivic choose “Beyond Her Farewell”,  keeping the changing nature of the original track, but adding a patina of disturbing darkness. And lastly, Betoko’s remix, who eliminates all the present subtleties in “Valentia” keeping only the key elements to go straight to the point. 

The EP “Beyond Her Farewell” will be available on BeatFreak from the 9th of March.
