Art studio vibes

I walk in the maiden flames

weaving intricate webs of grace

with the swing of my big belly and hips

and the hum from my lips

I dance

in the light

and the shadow

of the fire.

I disintegrate

with the embers.

And from the ashes,

I rise into 

motherhood.

Thank you to the dance floors who have watched me blossom, it is soon time for me traverse the passage into motherhood. 

This was the last set I played at Yoga Barn Oct 24, 2021, and I trust it won't be my last. See you on the other side.

LAGOON DANCE

This song comes from water elements such as oceans, lakes, cenotes and lagoons. When Koku travelled to Tulum, Mexico, he was inspired by Laguna de Kaan Luum and Bacalar Lagoon. He also felt synchronisation between his body’s water and lagoons. The body welcomed lagoons’ water and it was glad to be surrounded by water. At the same time he heard of the book, The Hidden Messages in Water by Masaru Emoto from some travellers. From these experiences, he put a lot of gratitude into this song to give us positive feelings.

KOKU BIO

Kiyoshi “Koku” Iio was born and raised in Japan. Primarily self-taught, he grew up playing sports and later became a drummer in rock bands. After a few years of playing drums, he began exploring other instruments such as guitar, bass, djembe and didgeridoo

While travelling the world, Koku bought a hang drum (Handpan) in Spain in 2017. From there, he traveled to over 20 countries busking with his handpan to make a living. For one year, he led a nomadic life playing music in various countries

In 2018, he went to Vancouver, Canada and was so impressed by the natural beauty that he decided to stay for a long period

The next step in his musical journey is to explore electronic and ambient music using synthesizers and sampled sounds from nature

Koku has produced over 100 videos of him playing music in various environments both in nature and in urban settings which can be seen on YouTube and Instagram
You can also hear his music on Bandcamp and Spotify.

He is passionate about working with musicians around the world and also providing his services to various people in different fields such as gaming, films, fashion, dance, theatre, and more

Hunter the Gatherer is dedicated to the search for eclectic global sounds, compiling them together, and creating a journey of prayer for the dancer. 

As a dancer and being versed in 5 Rhythms I intentionally curate journeys from that perspective. A way for the body to express all the different parts and for the emotions to be felt and alchemized.  

I bring my love of different sounds and my range of different electronic textures and genres to create a colorful landscape to journey through. 

Any time I play for others it is a deep honor and I use it as an offering to our temples so that we can express our prayers and move stuck energy that no longer serves us. 
I play for those who came before and will come after me. 

Creating my dream by playing music for others. :)
