Banoffee Pies Records welcomes a very special milestone project and curveball duo under one umbrella, combining artists across generations connecting sounds from past and present. London based Nottingham producer and Trouble Maker Records founder, Adam Curtain, serves up “Frass Box” under new moniker Curtain. An off-kilter, dub dancehall leaning track featuring the inimitable voice of Warrior Queen. The highly esteemed and cherished vocal artist steps in with another excellent contribution to their deep archive of memorable UK electronic-music collaborations.

With Adam’s solo productions usually focusing on bass heavy, disorienting club music, this release shows their production craft evolve seamlessly to a new sound sphere. In keeping with the intentions of the release, early 2000’s dubstep originator and a pioneer of the FWD era, Distance, provides a mammoth remix version. A fitting twist from a name synonymous with the genre's inception, and a vast catalogue of distinguished inserts over the last two decades, from their own label Chestplate, to the likes of Tectonic & Hotflush Recordings.

The 2nd remix aims to stretch the palette with Berlin based, Tel Aviv born DJ & Producer, Mor Elian. The Fever AM founder and sound innovator, further cementing their energetic, percussion-heavy signature with a peak time DJ tool in “Freeze Mix”. Manchester-based producer Demetae explores new territories in 'Space-Time Sleaze', released on La Mano's essential Sound du Jour imprint. Channelling 90s R&B, 808 god Egyptian Lover, and the widescreen science fiction of legends like Drexciya, Demetae has crafted three wild and smartly programmed slabs of intergalactic salaciousness that herald an exciting new chapter in the producer's output. The title track drags the aliens and freaks to the dancefloor with a thicc, bass heavy workout, face-scrunching acid lines and a zealous vocoded vocal, preaching from the pulpit the good news of the church of sleaze. The dance leaves the floor and heads skyward with 'Calculate' - where vibrant rushes of cascading arps open the curtain to a concealed space port off the shoulder of Orion. It's a masterclass in lean, stripped back electro, allowing each element to thrive in the stunningly rendered, sci-fi enriched mix. For the final movement, Demetae takes us into the corrosive badlands, the percussion riled up and fixing to dart away at warp speed at any given point. The acid is supremely squelchy, with wavering, uneasy pads and synths as bright as burning phosphorous sitting either side of the wild, tetchy rhythm. It's a violent spark of vitality concealed in an electro body, ending the EP on a celestial high.
