Hedchef - Perpetual Loop (Joyless Stimulation Mix) [out on Spinning Around VA]

Melbourne's most militant sonic futurist Hedchef deviates slightly from his alien electro mission to unleash a proggy, breaky, trancey anthem that seduces you into a 'Perpetual Loop'. Jerky polymetric synth patterns glide over crushed breakbeats and ethereal synth work to bring a considered yet focused dancefloor weapon.

Hedchef is a Melbourne-based producer and DJ originally from Oxford, UK, where he’s affiliated with labels Fly By Night and Circular Jaw; and runs his very own show with Threads Radio. He’s had a slew of head-stomping releases with Ecke Records, Left Right + Centre, Cyber Domain and more, with his own seismic brand of jagged electro, broken techno and UK bass.

To celebrate the end of 2021 and Spinning Around's first year in action, Highly Minogue has invited a number of this year's guests to contribute to a new charity compilation. The compilation features new original productions from each artist, with all proceeds going directly to Australian First Nations organisations - including Pay The Rent and the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service - causes Highly feels strongly about after the loss of his best friend back in 2014.

Leese - Galop (RESERVED)

On ACEN058, label boss DJ Pitch teams up with Berlin-based artist MLE to put together an EP of energetic, stripped-down dancefloor cuts. MLE, Rhythm Section affiliate and Refuge Worldwide resident, presents her first released productions; DJ Pitch puts out his first offerings on the label since 2022’s Scared.

First up on the record is the energetic Proto Windmill. Kicking off in a relentlessly jacking house groove, a blissful sample gently enters the fray. A lively vocal sample, reminiscent of UK funky MCs, encourages the dancers whilst MLE and Pitch masterfully switch between dreamy strings and punchy percussive sections.

Next up is Drum Trak 101. Playful, satisfyingly off-kilter drums set the pace, punctuated by oddball vocal samples and rallying whistles. Whilst the percussion gets a thorough workout, this drum track has an emotional edge to it, with soaring strings and a bouncy, uplifting chord progression.

Wicked Cool Mega Safe ramps things up into a high-intensity groove. Whilst stripping things down to percussive basics, the track remains endlessly compelling, with a forceful four-to-the-floor clap pattern surrounded by ecstatic snare rolls, percussive grunts and syncopated tom hits.

Closing the record in fine style is Post Club Post Step. An acidic synth line rolls underneath rigid four-to-the-flour drums, whilst a bouncy sub bass jumps between the beats. A dubbed-out vocal sample brings an air of urgency to the track, introducing an earworm synth melody that runs above the track’s energetic tech house groove.

Full Motion Disaster (also known as FMD) is the musical alias of Mumbai based DJ/Producer, Aniket Dabholkar. He is the owner and label manager of Filth Inc. - a dance music record label and promotional channel that gained initial fame for showcasing quality Lo-Fi House tunes before soon expanding to and becoming a known name in styles of music such as Ghettotech, Electro, Breakbeat,Trance  and Rave.

In 5 years, Filth Inc. has developed a significant presence on SoundCloud, having amassed over 15,000 followers on the platform alone, since its inception in 2019, with the label serving as a platform for new and established artists worldwide through Releases, Free Downloads, Premieres and Guest Mixes which are hosted on its SoundCloud page on a frequent basis.

FMD is a highly versatile DJ, capable of tailoring his sets to suit the need of the hour, though he has a preference for playing an eclectic blend of Electro, Ghettotech, Ghetto House, Breakbeat and Rave, with his sets usually starting around 130 bpm and concluding at the 160 bpm mark over the course of 1-1.5 hours. Aniket’s mixes continue to be featured on several key outlets worldwide.

For this 187th Premiere of 2025, we have a track by Brazil's Marcela Dias Sindaco titled ‘Canção de ninar’ from her forthcoming LP "Electro Tropical" on the label located in Oklahoma City (USA) : Fixed Rhythms.

Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, Marcela Dias Sindaco is formerly a classical piano and cello player. With early musical influences drawing from experimental German groups like Popol Vuh, Tangerine Dream, and Cluster, her electro productions encapsulate more than one sound palette.

For Marcela Dias Sindaco’s third release on the Oklahoma City label Fixed Rhythms, she delivers a full-length 2xLP of her characteristically magical electro. These songs were recorded in various studios across Brazil, capturing the intangibles of Brazilian city life. You can hear her influences (Detroit techno, kosmische synth travel, electro, etc.), but she distills it all yet again into something completely her own. Whenever you listen to her music, you know it’s her. Hypnotizing electro made on warm machines with her sung/spoken Portuguese woven enchantedly throughout…truly sublime listening. This is a 16 track groove journey that will make you a Marcela fan if you aren’t already one.

The two black 12”s come housed in a beautiful jacket that offers you a glimpse into Marcela’s world. The background of the artwork on the backside features a wallpaper design that you may find in an old home in Brazil. Inside is an insert written by Italian curator and philosopher Massimo Torrigiani. Only 300 copies pressed…don’t sleep on this one.
