In my youth, the process of listening to music was a much more active one. I would close all of my blinds, turn my lights off, turn my music on through the speakers, lay in my bed and stare at the ceiling. My mind would turn right and left, and I would slither through all of my thoughts as if I was in a sensory deprivation tank. Sometimes I would border on the edges of sleep, teetering between REM and wakefulness, at other times, I would let myself fall into those dreams influenced by the music… and what dreams they were.

Khun Fluff’s 'Vinyan (Full Circle’s Lost In Translation Remix)' is a welcome reminder of the importance of active listening and music-fuelled meditation. A trance-inducing take on the original—which was released as part of EP of Siamese Twins Records' Vinyan V.A (ST๐๐๒) cassette last year—Full Circle’s remix begins with breathy pads and floating vocals that pan across the space, joined by harmonies and repetitions that invite transcendental movement. The space becomes more full and expansive before an acid synth-line takes over, met with sonic artefacts akin to otherworldly objects finding their home on earth. At last, a kick drum takes over, turning the ethereal groove into a trance-tinged number perfect for any 5am dancefloor.

Almost a year ago Moisk, a duo made up of Pletnev aka Ponty Mython and Fourmï Rouz, released their debut foray on Dutch label I Lost My Poncho In Istanbul. Now they’re returning for another excursion, this time inviting you to take a ride on the Pleasure Express, a fresh new imprint springing up from Belgium. Titled 'Melancholic Raver', the EP once again showcases the pair's love of hypnotic rhythms and breakbeat patterns, matching these with acid lines and otherworldly atmospheres.

'Aggelos first approached Lurid Music with the idea for this project a few months ago. We agreed on one condition, that all proceeds be donated to refugee causes, like we did with his Black Sea EP which supported the Syrian refugee crisis. When Russia invaded Ukraine, we decided our focus had to be helping the Ukrainian refugees who were forced to leave their homes in search of safe havens abroad.

We discussed this with most contributors to the project and the consensus was that donations should strictly go to humanitarian groups and not any armament funds. There were also some thoughts about helping conflict-affected peoples in other parts of the world but we decided it was too much to tackle for a relatively small project like this one.

Therefore, donations stemming from the sales of this release will be distributed to the following humanitarian groups currently active in Ukraine or neighboring countries welcoming refugees:

Humans have to drink! They went down to the pond to quench their thirst. Sipping from the cool wet while being on all fours, they saw the reflection of their own faces for the first time. This must have been the beginning of the ongoing struggle of mankind dealing withself-consciousness. Anna and Ole (Das A&O) also met at the water point and much like the myth of the first human couple “Adam and Eve” they ate too much poisoned apples but instead of getting obsessed with one’s ego, they wrote somebeautiful Synth Wave music together! Immortalized on a seven-inch piece of wax, the results are now available on Rat Life Records.

Worst Records' hall of fame welcomes new faces around the pool for a 13-stages enlightened drama. You'll meet again with the top 3 podium made of A Strange Wedding, Jacques Satre and Christian Coiffure, all rensponsible for our first three releases, building up a mesmerizing, out of season mental workout. Extending the dimension of trance towards Saint-Etienne, Del.Duc brings on a curious yet serene astral travel, and we can also count on the distant reinforcements from the Toulouse Gouffre Club crew with Jan Loup and her glitch spangled hazy dub from far futures and the new trance comer from Bordeaux, Lazuli.
Special friends are also gathering here, as Myako is sewing on thin fabric a vaporous dub in shades of grey, the one-and-only master touki Théo Muller delivers a cinematic remedy to confinement.
Liberation through hearing, it is, as borders explode with the presence of many : Yin Yang Audio in a transatlantic IDM/break jump, Forest on Stasys (aka Mental Resonance) and his tough shamanic dance, Clemens Friedrich slowing down all senses at once and JEANS, boss of Oracle Bones, speeding us up in the hyperloop.
Finally, as teamwork means a lot, we have given the pleasure to open this compilation to the four-headed Lausanne/Freiberg hydra 4POTR and their cryptic transdimensional message, and the honor of closing this pool party to the 404 trio gem from Candoblé with a fine piece of wonder.

Not exactly your usual summer compilation, nor the hits you could imagine, but surely the music you'll need under the hot sun of 2020.

Imre Kiss returns to Crisis for his first solo offering on the label. 

He kicks things off with ‘Time Spent Well’, an emotional roller coaster 
between Italo and New Beat. ‘Hysteric (3am mix)’ as it’s title suggest, is a no style Acid trip intended for smoke and strobe-filled basements. 

The repetitive bassline and hefty 808 drums of ‘Repeater’ are a perfect match looking to hypnotize the dance floor, while the title track ‘Mer de Désir’ has school analogue feel to it, reminiscing the solo work of TG’s Chris Carter.  

Closing up the EP is Auratekh’s lush re-imagination of ‘Mer de Désir’ to a journey back to the progressive house era of the noughties.
