In the late 90”, he installed a gigantic Olivetti server in the carisbo bank caveau in Bologna’s main square undergrounds, a labyrinth of catacombs, bomb shelters and underground waterways.
Down there he found a dusty mpc 2000xl in an abandoned occupied room, probably an italo disco studio once belonged to Gaznevada, Confusional quartet or Datura? …. Hard to tell.
Randomly pushing a button after one other PETRONIO was born.
A complete music noob with some pretty good dancer’s legs, party after party, club after club, Petronio’s spontaneous house sensibil-ity started to take shape, a fine line between Detroit and the rivi-era.
That cash register became many nights best buddy, burning recording session, kilometers of tape and liters of vodka.
No one is a prophet in his own country, Chicago’s Jordan Fields signs two decades of productions but releases only “the Rainbow” on his Oldschool Grooves Records & tapes.

Party-starter Chrissy joins the Shall Not Fade family with a 4-track serotonin hit which draws on influences from his San Franciscan heritage, as well as those closer to home in the UK.

‘You Don’t Have To Worry’ encompasses this fusion, with anthemic piano chords and uplifting vocals that enliven a swung breaks instrumental. ‘Assure Us There’s A Heaven’ and ‘If I Could’ also come with plenty of swing, borrowing tropes from UK Funky to show house at its most danceable, whilst ‘All These Dreams’ is a modern take on old school vocal house.
