Wameedd © is a dynamic and symbiotic creational process between Kamilya Jubran and Werner Hasler. In the unique opportunity of their meeting, Kamilya and Werner started an experiment with no definition, nor an intended destination. They both have different roots yet their “central current” worlds meet. At every meeting, Kamilya and Werner experiment and go to a different orbit as they get inspired with the questions that mobilize their imagination.  Every outcome becomes consistent with strong and new meanings yet at the same time associated with the simplicity of sound .It is an open communication with less cultural “preconceptions” .This is a smooth outcome of Kamilya’s voice quality and its limitless utility, Arabic words, Arabic phonemic rhythms and Kamilya’s compositions. It is also an outcome of the   roots of Werner’s “vocal instrument“, his own melodies and his unique lead in electronic music. They both come in on common grounds with a common vision of the world and a shared knowledge of how to communicate with it. The outcome at every meeting is fragile, uncertain, yet at the same time expressive and definitive. Kamilya and Werner continue questioning and moving in unwalked territories towards a horizon they have not experienced before. This creation may result in a unique alchemy in a harmonious universe and may become a distinctive language of art which is hard to name.

عمل إبداعي مشترك ومتداخل هو ثمرة لقاء خاص بين كميليا جبران وفيرنر هاسلر . اللقاء بين الإثنين, على إختلاف منابعهما الفنيّة، قد ولد تجربة فريدة لا يمكن تأطيرها وحشرها في تعريفات ضيقة.رغم  جذورهما المختلفة فإن تجربتهما معاً تُفضي بهما إلى عالم واحد وتشحن تساؤلا تهما  الفنيّة بحثاً عن سلالم ترتقي بهما إلى مخيلة منفتحة على فضاء أرحب ، بغية إفراز معانٍ جديدة تقوم بدورها في توسيع الفضاءات الفنيّّة . وهذه المعاني التي تبدو للوهلة الأولى عصية بعض الشيء، إلا أنها تتصف ببساطة الأصوات والأنغام التي‮ ‬تخلق‮ ‬بدورها حواراً مفتوحاً على مصراعيه بعيداً عن الإفتراضات الثقافية المسبقة.
هذا العمل الفني يحاول إستخلاص صوت كميليا جبران وإمكانياتة المفتوحة على فضاءات المنطوقات العربية,من كلمات وأصوات وإيقاعات، وذلك عبر صياغة لحنيّه خاصة تجمع بينهما وبين منابع  فيرنر الصوتية والنغمية المتدفقة من أجهزته الإلكترونية.  اللقاء بين فيرنر وكميليا يأتي على أرضيّة مشتركة ومن خلال رؤيّة متقاربة للعالم  في أسلوب ينشد الوصول إلى هذا المختلف والمؤتلف في آن معاً. رغم أن النتيجة بعد كل محاولة بينهما قد تبدو للوهلة الأولى هشة وغير واثقة، إلا أنها تأتي مَُعبّره متسمة بالثقة بالنفس.
إنهما يبحران معاًً بتساؤلاتهما نحو مناطق غير مطروقة وصوب أفقٍ لم يطآه من قبل .
 من شأن هذا اللقاء بينهما أن يوّلد كيمياء فريدة لعالم  متناسق ومتناغم رغم تنويعاته وإختلاف منابعه.إنها محاولة لخلق لغة فنيّة متّميزة  يَصعب تسميتها.

Starting life as a small New York event aimed at raising awareness for Fela Kuti's musical message, Rich Medina's Jump N Funk party has now been rocking dancefloors across the globe for over 15 years. Honouring Fela's contribution to music as well as his political and cultural legacy, Medina has made his events a platform to celebrate Afro-Life across the Black Diaspora. With guests such as Wunmi, the cast of Fela! On Broadway, Asiko and Antibalas providing captivating live performances, Jump N Funk is so much more than a club night. In creating this compilation to represent the spirit of his events, Rich Medina has chosen an eclectic selection of undeniably afro-tinged, unashamedly life-affirming music. With most tracks either referencing, sampling or inspired by the great man, the record also includes material by Fela himself, as well as son Seun Kuti and long-time band member Tony Allen the inventor of the afrobeat set drum syncopation that is equally as notorious as Fela and his message... The album's artwork has been lovingly created by Lemi Ghariokwu, the fabled Nigerian artist who designed some of Fela's most iconic covers. From the record's sleeve to the music contained within, Jump N Funk is a cultural artefact with one foot in the past, the other in the future. An echo of Fela's message: a reminder to celebrate, to empower, to progress.

Is she a constant fighter seeking justice and equality? Who is she? A modern, active young person ? A Business woman ? Does she have to chose ? Who is she ? Is she Eastern? Is she western? How can she restrain her inner richness and multiplicity: a strong, beautiful, struggling woman trying to get in touch with her inner self, energetically yet lovingly, with all the generosity and power of a woman!

Recorded over 3 years ago, “Nesting Grounds” is a cultivation of 4-5 years of experimentation, a fragment of space and time where we rediscovered sound and style. 
This release marks an end of a chapter and the beginning of a new one for Za’ed Na’es.
