Always On My Mind

Serendeep opens the ninth chapter by welcome the Argentinian artist Paul Deep with a debut release 'Prelude'. Well-known for his deep atmospheric style production, which lad him for releasing music on labels such as Sudbeat Music, Plattenbank, The Soundgarden, Sound Avenue, and many more, since his first appearance in 2014. French producer Rick Pier O'Neil is no stranger in the industry, earning his reputation from energetic peak-time production throughout many many years. 

Deep rhythm and filled ethereal atmospheres 'Prelude' headlines release. Rick Pier O'Neil's interpretation of 'Prelude' pushes it a darker territory. The moving basslines and chunky rhythms provide energy while retaining the signature of the original. Glorious abandon 'Native' to completes the 23 mins progressive experience.

A vivid sonic palette glows brightly from a cathedral of sound created by Fernando Olaya. A subterranean bassline from the depths of the Zapiqura salt mines radiates in warm tones. An echo to a French electronic icon reverberates through "Ethnicolor", sparkling arpeggios ripple outwards in gloriously emotive patterns and sumptuous underlying melody, bound together with driving rhythm and syncopated percussion. A charismatic array of sounds appears "Face to Face" communicating a powerful symbiotic relationship between rhythm and melody. A collage of counterpoint motifs provides aural intrigue and a central phrase pierces with powerful intent.

Matching a rapid upward trajectory to the soaring glass-fronted skyscrapers of Tim Penner's Toronto home, glittering shards of sound ripple in sunlit patterns through a new "Ethnicolor". Subtle variation reflects a central melodic framework as trademark groove and attention to detail reveal poise and power in perfect harmony. A Colombian duo reprises their partnership as Dabeat and Juan Pablo Torrez come "Face to Face" once more. A symphony of sounds collides across a study in perfect communication as the effect of mutual cooperation reveals sumptuous bassline groove and subtle melodic cues.

ALEX O'RION Envy

Next on ICONYC sees the return of Alex O'Rion with the reworked 2020 edit of his smash hit 'Navagio'. The talented Dutch producer has been a well-known entity within the scene and has graced some of the world's finest electronic music labels with his unique and lasting productions. Hailing from Amsterdam, Alex, developed a unique style of music, full of ambiances, paired with despondent and warm dreamy patterns that guided him to where he is to today and embodies the sound he now personifies. 

Alex leads with the outstanding rework of his timeless 'Navagio' track; a stunning driving melodic progressive house affair. The track utilizes a deep groove as foundation, underpinned by a profound bass and smooth synth chords that gradually ease their way to the summit. Unified by a relentless kick drum and dusky atmospheric emotion, the composition climaxes by adding recurrent percussive elements and soft soaked melodies that come together to create a structured sphere of sonic satisfaction. 

On remix duty we welcome Kamilo Sanclemente & Dabeat, famed for their endless high-quality productions. Their interpretation sounds mature, effortless, and full of subtle nuance. Known to never be bound by any particular style, we see the duo taking a deeper route for their rework of 'Navagio'. Kamilo & Dabeat deliver a bittersweet, quality fueled, melancholic rework that manages to get your legs shaking with each downbeat. Great stuff!

Adding to our list of all-star remixers, we drafted in Subandrio who knows a thing or two when it comes to mind blowing reworks, turning his mix into an irresistible track using the original elements with perfection. Subandrio layers more melodies and effects, whilst upping the flow with cleverly programmed tech percussion and his trademark FX elements, without destroying the essence of the original. His rework deserves to be branded 'elemental' in any sense of the word. 

Alex O'Rion has developed a unique style which endeared him to us; having established his credentials as a master of his craft. Alex's 'Navagio 2020 Rework', accompanied by 2 reworks from Kamilo Sanclemente & Dabeat and Subandrio, is certain to find its way into the playlists of the big-boys brigade. Grass-scented purity and heavenly glow, almost like running on a field at night with the wind on your face, ''Jadhe'' leaves that exquisite taste, Kamilo Sanclemente does it again.

The renowned Colombian DJ/Producer inaugurates Nature Rec's first release with a highest level piece. With flying arpeggios, feeling deep, trance's fine drops and a distinctive elegance, ''Jadhe'' will be a treasurable masterpiece without a doubt.

Always searching, exploring new melodic textures, and with a tribal touch, comes the first remix from label managers Leo Perez and Dhany G. A Panama-Cuba union, these major artists, who have been merging their sonorities since a while, concretize with Nature groove for an excellent caliber club track.

Anew from Colombia, comes the second remix from extremely talented Gux Jiménez, one of Cartagena's Progressive sound exponents nowadays. With special leads and distorted synths, Gux guides us between light and darkness, a midpoint in perfect balance, complemented by a solid rhythmic in constant motion.

Closing this sonorous tale, from Argentina, the great Santo Adriano up with EP's 3rd remix. Maintaining the essence, with freshness and a refined aesthetic, we may experiment a journey with minimalist streaks in a successful harmony with the groove. Santo connects and expands this launch's musical loop. Another gem from this collection.
