A Berlin resident since 2004, Mareena developed her musical career in interaction with the steady advancement of techno and house in Berlin after moving from Rostock / East Germany. As a result of her experiences within the diverse musical channels of Berlin she has developed her own distinct sound. This development naturally led to DJ gigs in many notable underground clubs such as About Blank, Berghain, Griessmühle and eventually a residency at Tresor. 

Her influences range far and wide, including anything from Detroit and Chicago acid to the more hypnotic take on dub, ambient, and techno. Throughout the years she has performed extensively both locally and internationally, accomplishing the rare feat of earning a reputation solely as a DJ and curator.

As one of the curators of the New Faces night at Tresor as well as her UNRUSH podcast, interview and event series, she has continuously crafted new conduits for both established and emerging artists to break down musical barriers and transform the world around them. As a DJ she is a chameleon, carefully stitching together immaculate and immersive sound landscapes for any occasion. Whether she is playing peak time, warm up, or after hour, her sound reveals an intelligent eclecticism fused with bold elements of surprise that exemplify her rich knowledge of electronic music culture.

Growing up in a remote Slovenian east village, Vinter brothers isolated themselves from social distractions and found their passion in the deepest tunnels of electronic music.

Developing throughout the years, Matija has proven that one can achieve anything with the right drive and mental process to support it. Giving him a challenge on the last Izvir, he left us speechless performing an artist set with a notebook and tracks without waveforms on CDJs.

Adding production skills to his arsenal, Matija has solidified his role in becoming an indispensable warrior in the Formaviva’s Samurai troop.

We are curious to hear what Vinter has prepared for the summer climax.

Berghain's latest resident shows his wares. 

There are around 20 DJs who could be considered Berghain/Panorama Bar residents, but that doesn't make us any less curious when someone new joins the fold. Answer Code Request is Patrick Gräser, a DJ and live act who has been playing monthly at the Berlin house and techno institution since August of last year. Gräser established the ACR alias in 2011, releasing a startlingly assured four-track EP coupled with an appearance on Marcel Dettmann's Conducted mix for Music Man. This fact, however, is a little misleading: Gräser has been producing—if not releasing—music for much of the last decade. He grew up in the same East German town, Fürstenwalde, as Marcel Fengler and Marcel Dettmann, sharing their formative clubbing experiences during the '90s in nearby Berlin. 

Gräser's first formal releases arrived around 2008, as he put out a run of house-orientated tracks on labels like liebe*detail and his own short-lived Nightsingale imprint. While this material showed promise, it was later as Answer Code Request that Gräser really came into his own. The best example we can point you to is Main Mode and The Host, a pair of 12-inches released simultaneously through Marcel Dettmann Records that we last year described in similar terms to Shed's multifarious, '90s-informed approach to techno and broken beats.

ante portās, to date better known under pseudonym Raleigh, is a Czech DJ and commuter that frequently moves between Prague and Brno. He is a member of a well-known Prague brand Harmony Records and a moderator of a newly emerging podcast radio Isolate. His new alter-ego ante portās gives more space for experimentation and brings music in a calmer and more relaxed spirit, which attracts attention with confident handwriting. In his music, he slows down older, well-selected tracks and mixes them with the latest material creating an original combination of different moods across multiple genres.
