“Spiders” is the first single by Illa J following his second &  solo album ILLA J LP released in 2015 via Bastard Jazz Records. Produced by Calvin Valentine, the single is the very first track out of 10 songs they created in four days working out of Calvin’s home studio in North Hollywood. The pair continued the collaborations and now have about 30 songs together. 

Spiders is an upbeat trippy psycadelic hip hop tune. From Illa J’s visual lyrics to Calvin’s psychedelic synths and banging drums you will be hypnotized and really feeling you have “spiders crawling on your skin”. Showcasing his singing as well as his songwriting, Illa J keeps moving towards showing that he is not just a rapper. This versatility was well received with his last album.

The song will be exclusively for sale on Bandcamp on for the first week and then on every other platform iTunes, Google Play, Apple Music etc.

Dear summer, you know we gonna miss you... Thankfully Syrup are blessing us with „Sunlit Days“, a perfect farewell song to the warm season..

And while the sunlit days go by, our favourite little super group are also announcing their first full-length album „Rosy Lee“, which will be in stores on 18th September. The LP will be available on black and syrup-coloured vinyl. 

Technically, Syrup are a hip-hop group with unmistakeable leanings towards soul and jazz. The group consists of an MC (Turt), a pianist/singer (C.Tappin) and a beatmaker (Twit One). Their music is rooted in the tradition of collectives like Native Tongues and Soulquarians, and they have come up with a pretty appropriate term to describe their sound, which is “cool bap”.

Twit, Turt and Tappin first met at a club in Bristol some years ago, where Twit played a DJ gig. They quickly became friends and have been working on music together ever since. In 2017 Twit brought Turt and Tappin over to Cologne to perform at the legendary Radio Love Love boat party. In the same year Summers Sons released “Undertones”, their first EP for Melting Pot Music, followed by “Uhuru” (2018) and “The Rain” (2019) and C.Tappin's debut EP “Ashes To Ashes” (2019).

Our second premiere today comes from Syrup, with their brand new song “Politickin”. A laid back blend of boom bap & modern jazzy vibrations from the London & Cologne based trio, consisting of Twit One, C.Tappin & Turt of Summers Sons. Released this Wednesday July 22 on Melting Pot Music. 

Syrup is a new group from London and Cologne. The group consists of producer Twit One, pianist & singer C.Tappin and rapper Turt (Summers Sons). Their style of music is called Cool Bap. 

“Politickin” is their third single. It's the follow-up to “Burnt Out” and “The Recipe”.
