To participate in the Haiku Music challenge::

- Make a song in response to the weekly assigned poem (a new poem is published every Wednesday)
- When choosing a title for your piece also include the assignment number, for example “Title of your track (naviarhaiku382)”

To submit your track:

- If you’re a Soundcloud user, upload it on Soundcloud and send me the URL via private message, or tag me in the track.
- If you upload your music on Youtube, Bandcamp or anywhere else, upload your submission and then send me the link by email at marco@naviarrecords.com or contact me on X, Facebook or Instagram

For this, I started by recording two phrases into Ableton Live on a Jay Turser MG-2 “Mustang” guitar tuned to F# A# C# G# C# F. For both loops - which were different lengths - I used PitchLoop89, some compression, a warp/stretch mode and a bit of chorus. Next I used a Rogue Fretless bass and then Cherry Audio’s ARP Pro Soloist. Other items used - Live native devices and Melda plugins.

This original version of "Red Over Seventeen" was submitted as part of Naviar Haiku 560, Daybreak!

Another multi-part sprawling virtual modular patch assembled using VCV Rack. The separate parts were split and recorded simultaneously to multiple tracks; allowing the use off additional effects on several elements. 

This final version is mot quite as I'd envisaged it, I created multiple sequences intending them to overlap in am initial "Tempest", then drop them one by one as the tempest was interred in the snow. When, having set up physical controls, I came to perform and record it felt right to space things out. At the expense of  a real tempest I now have a daybreak section and the last sequence is still finally interred by the appropriately named Frostbite Reverb/delay plugin from Audio Thing: https://www.audiothing.net/effects/frostbite
