Lamentations of Cruel Devotion (LOCD)

In the depths of despair, where shadows loom,
where love meets its cruel and lingering doom,
I shed my tears of a tormented heart,
For my dying bride, I am torn apart.
The night we met, with moon's silver gleam,
our hearts entwined, in a harrowing dream,
but now the thorns of sadness entangle our souls,
forging a path where only darkness patrols.

Lamentations of cruel devotion, a love so tragically inclined,
Like a withered rose, decaying, our love has slowly died.
In the echoes of sorrow, we mourn our shattered design,
Lamentations of cruel devotion, eternally confined.
Soft whispers of love, once echoed in the air,
now lost in the torment, a heartache beyond repair,
where passion's flame once burned, there's only cold,
a desolate landscape, our hearts unfold.

The moon hides its face behind ominous clouds,
as our love crumbles, lost in eternal shrouds,
the silence of solitude, a mournful song,
where once love bloomed, now it all feels so wrong.

an elegy of love, a painful affirmation.

Update 9/11/24 (v2 - current track your listening to):

- Solo added! Quick improv thingy, but it's fun and fits the song for now
- Harmony added to the intro lead
- Added additional rhythm guitar tracks
- Still to do: A few more samples. I'm thinking the Tunguska incident...

Update 8/11/24 (v1):

- Reuploaded the demo with quad tracked bass and guitars
- Also recorded the second solo break again as I forgot to save the mix… it’s close enough?

Just another rough track I've had sitting around for a while that I probably won't ever do anything with, so here it is for anyone that might be interested.  I often record tracks like this when trying to come up with ideas for a new song, or just to keep myself active and practice mixing/mastering.  Sometimes I'll write a short simple little song just to test out some new gear/plugins/mixing techniques.  Anyways, thanks again for listening.

I'm a guitarist and wanna be composer / songwriter- from Perth, Western Australia. I'm currently releasing a bunch of solo material as I have a backlog of older demos and also a new creative streak (thanks life).
