David Scuba, or better known around the Desert Hearts Family as Uncle Scoobs, has been crushing the game lately with his productions and label, Superfreq, that he runs with Mr. C. We've been lucky enough to have David on Desert Hearts Records twice now: Once on his deliciously psychedelic EP with Dance Spirit and more recently with his cranking remix for Lee Reynolds track "This Love." Uncle Scoobs has always been family to us and his friendship and versatility as a DJ are somethings we've always admired about him. If you spent Sunday morning on the Desert Hearts dance floor, prepare to be blasted back there as David Scuba guided the helm from Öona Dahl's sunrise to Deep Jesus's Sunday Sermon. It was all love that morning and Uncle Scoobs reminded us why he's been a guiding force in this family for years.

Damian Lazarus, the Crosstown Rebels founder famous for his idiosyncratic style and personality, embarks on a groundbreaking new project with Day Zero. On 20th - 21st	December 2012 he will stage a festival in stunning Playa del Carmen, Mexico that will celebrate the momentous end of this world cycle, as decreed by the ancient Mayan civilisation.

To commemorate this enigmatic event he asked thirteen artists to create a new track for a special Day Zero compilation. His peers and comrades stepped up to the challenge with Rebel’s artist past, present and future contributing to this momentous collection compiled by Damian Lazarus.
Pier Bucci opens with the eerie and captivating ‘Mayas’ full of his Latin-American spirit. He was introduced to the music world by Crosstown, releasing his first two albums on the label. Next up, Quenum shares his ‘Prophecy’ and Mathew Johnson returns to the label with the driving pulses of ‘In Search Of A New Planet With Oxygen’. Johnson delivered a huge remix early in the label’s history from Hiem ‘She’s The One’ and is a pioneer of the underground house movement.

Listen closely to the messages hidden in the knocking drums and trembling tones of ‘Jeel, k'eex’ from Mexican native Metrika. Crosstown’s newest first lady Francesca Lombardo’s contribution ‘Cosmic Dancer’ swells with femininity and allure while Fur Coat, who concocted the last artist album for CR, explain a little more about the significant date in
their cut ‘Greed, Insanity’.

Fosky & Bog and the newcomer to the label Jay Haze both contribute epic dancefloor monsters to the collection. Haze is boss of legendary techno imprint Contexterrior and has been living in South America of late, fascinated by its mystical pull. Supernatural cuts from Eduardo Castillo featuring his baritone opera trained voice and the Israeli Navid Izadi ft KMLN align up with Mike Shannon for his ‘Sunrise’ and the closing
moments from Thugfucker & Shaun Reeves and Acid Pauli & Nu bring this otherworldly assembly to a flourishing close.

The Day Zero album arrives on the dawn of the 24 hour event that brings together the best electronic music and entertainment from some of the world’s finest DJs as they embrace a new moment in time. The occasion will mark the end-date of a 25,625-year- long cycle and the final cycle of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar. At this moment the galactic alignment will occur, the earth will align with the centre of the Milky
Way creating a moment for transformation, renewal and change. 

Joining Damian Lazarus at the event are Massive Attack’s Robert “3D” Del Naja, UNKLE’s James Lavelle, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Jamie Jones, Trentemøller, Art Department, and more alongside artists from the album including Metrika (live), Acid Pauli, Francesca Lombardo, Amirali (live), Fur Coat, Thugfucker, and outstanding alternative performances, workshops, games from Mayan Culture, and jaw-dropping 3D
visuals and projections.

Mr.C mix for Fabric, New Year 2013 – Write up & Track list.

With the 21st of December well & truly behind us, thankfully we’re all still here to dance our merry dance in the celebration of life. The winter Solstice has brought us an extremely cool Yule for 2012 & for that we can all be grateful, & with the solstice comes my favourite story that I’d like to share with you, one of our beloved Santa himself.
Of course, back in pagan times, times that are back upon us now that we’ve all happily shifted our consciousness’ into the next dimension, Christmas time was all about the winter solstice & it was during this magical time that the real Santa came to be.
This Jolly fellow celebrated in the best possible way, by eating copious amounts of those magical Fly agaric mushrooms; yes the red ones with the white dots. Now Santa, being the kind hearted soul that he is, felt that he should share the sack loads full of mushrooms that he’d gathered in the autumn to his friends far & wide, so he chopped a few mushrooms for the reindeer (they love to eat them) & waited for them to come. Reindeer can smell chopped Fly agaric from miles away & so they came to eat their favourite snack. Once the reindeer ate, content, they would let Santa harness them up to his sleigh & of course in their newly found tripped out state, of course they could indeed fly.
So Santa, dressed as the Fly Agaric mushroom in red with white dots, went with his sleigh, pulled by those beautiful creatures, to deliver those sacks of mushrooms to all of his friends so that they too could enjoy what the winter solstice is all about.

So, with this in mind & the Holiday festivities now behind us, it gives me the utmost pleasure to present to you my brand new mix for Fabric, to ease you all gently yet tripped out, into 2013 with a mix of the deepest, obscurest, futuristic acid house, which was mixed with vinyl with love, to help you too, to celebrate the winter solstice in just the way Santa would’ve wished.

Mr.C started MCing in London clubs aged 16 working with LWR radio's Ron Tom, Jasper the Vinyl Junkie & Jazzy M. Mr.C then hooked up with Colin Faver & Evil Eddie Richards to became resident rapper at the legendary Camden Palace in London. Mr.C went into the studio to record his 1st house track with Eddie Richards as Myster-E which was released in August 1987. This inspired Mr.C to become a DJ so in September 87 he took to the decks. 
Mr.C has since organised, promoted & been resident DJ at: Fantasy ('88), Base (Dungeons '89), Release (91), Harmony (92), Drop (93), Cyclone (94), Vapourspace (94 & 95), Flavour (The End 95 & 96), Subterrain (The End 95 - 2002), Superfreq (Worldwide 2002 - Present), Super Disco Freq (LA 2010 - present), Next Step Forward Festival (Sept 2018). 
Mr.C was resident DJ every weekend (Friday & Saturday nights) at the legendary RIP parties at Clink Street in London throughout 1988.
Mr.C hosted weekly radio show Future Music on Kiss 100FM in London from 1993-2002 & has presented TV shows for MTV, FH1, VIVA & BBC. To say that Mr.C is one of the most iconic DJs in the world would be an understatement.
In December 1995 Mr.C opened the legendary nightclub The End in London & then AKA bar 3 years later & was lauded as one of the best night clubs in the world. The End & AKA closed its doors for good on January 24th 2009. 1 Chapter closes & another begins. Since the closure of The End Mr.C has been running his Superfreq events globally & is just about to host his brand new London festival, Next Step Forward Festival. 
Mr.C runs & promotes Superfreq events, which celebrated being 16 years old in March 2018 & ran monthly at Mr.C's club The End until it closed down in January 2009. Superfreq functions bi-monthly in London & does regular events in Los Angeles as well as bi-monthly events in Calais France & one off events the world over.
Mr.C is founder & owner of Plink Plonk records, co-founder of End Recordings & founder & co-owner of the Superfreq label, which is now releasing music prolifically.
Mr.C has recorded under the names, Myster-E, Unity 2, Nu Jacks, Bass Bureau, The Shamen, Mantrac, Somnambulist, Animus Amour, Killer Loop, Mr.C & Tom Parris, Mr.C & 16B, Sycophant Slags, Indigo Kidz & East LA Tek.
Mr.C is best known as front man, songwriter & producer of the pop group The Shamen with whom he notched up a string of top 10 hits including Move Any Mountain, Love Sex Intelligence, Boss Drum, Phorever People & the UK number 1 smash hit Ebeneezer Goode. These hits were hits the world over. The Shamen album Boss Drum went double platinum in the UK & they also won a highly coveted Ivor Novelo for Songwriters of the year UK in 1993. Richard's currently recording solo as Mr.C & is also doing collaborations as the Indigo Kidz with Affie Yusuf & with Noel Jackson as East LA Tek.
His latest album was released last year called Incidents, which is arguably his best work to date along with singles Stand Up, Shape Your Dreams & Ripple Effect all being taken from the album.
