This month Radio Drama features special guest Jon Dixon from Underground Resistance and Timeline in Detroit.

Jon’s Hi Tech Jazz fusion has caught the imagination over the last few years, both with his band playing for Galaxy 2 Galaxy and Timeline as well as his 4EVR4WRD label.
He started studying under the guidance of Detroit’s own Jazz legend Marcus Belgrave for the Detroit Civic Jazz Orchestra and went on to have a stage history that includes some of the greats of Jazz and Detroit Techno and House including playing alongside Chick Corea, Marcus Belgrave. Goldie, Jeff Mills and The Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

Radio Drama 33 | Jon Dixon

A west London house mafia associate, a DC10 resident and one half of influential production outfit Peace Division (alongside Justin Drake); Clive Henry has multiple accolades to his name and has been vitally active as a DJ since the beginning of the '90s. He's long been a strong force in the tech house scene, globally, from the parties he used to throw in west London with Andrew Weatherall and Justin Robertson to hosting his own events and spending his summers in Ibiza, giving his own deep take on house music to the iconic DC10 where he still regularly drives the party.

He's next back in Farringdon shortly to join the weighty roster of his booking agency NGE up in Room Three. It's a showing that will see him playing back to back with wAFF and joining Mark Jenkyns, Michael Yumé and Golesworthy on the bill. As a prelude of what we can expect from the night on 26th September he's recorded us this exclusive mix that perfectly shows what a good tech set can do to you - pulling you into its immersive and tunnel-like groove whilst also throwing in some curve ball percussion to keep the experience fully engaging.

Just Be aka Bushwacka aka Matthew Benjamin’s story arose from deep within the UK’s underground warehouse and illegal rave scene. Beginning in the 80s and 90s, he found it a space where he had unparalleled creative freedom to explore and develop as an artist. Just Be’s past has now seeped into the present, and as the years have gone by, we’ve seen him push boundaries of house, breakbeat, techno, downtempo and ambience alike. A collection of styles that have since lead him down a path to become the highly sort-after DJ/producer that he is today.

Officially, Just Be’s career kicked off with a 14-year residency in London’s legendary The End, the abandoned train tunnel turned nightclub was a leg up in the dance world and propelled him into the international circuit. Since then, his time as a touring artist has seen him headline some of the worlds leading clubs such as Cocoon, DC10 and the now defunct Space in Ibiza. Clubs aside, Just Be is also no stranger to festival life. He’s featured on the dusty plains of the Black Rock Dessert for a sunrise set at Burning Man’s Robot Heart stage, The BPM Festival and many more. Fast forward to the present and Just Be now has 6 artist albums with another one on its way, 120 remixes and 160 tracks. To top it off he also has another EP soon to be released on Get Physical Music.

In compiling this bumping house mix for Balance Selections, Just Be waited until the last minute so he could pick his favourite and most recent tracks from his collection, a mix where he’s managed to squeeze 18 tracks into his one-hour set. When asked about his podcast he told Balance ‘I haven’t actually put my own music on this mix. I meant to, but there is so much good music I had to pass on, and I just went with what felt right’ – and as usual, his feeling was spot on.

In tandem, she has built a formidable back-catalogue of music on labels from Crosstown Rebels to her own Echoe and Echolette imprints amongst others.

If you went to the Pitch Music & Arts 2017 chances are your weekend got a significant boost with her mainstage set. Around noon on Saturday, the Italian DJ delivered a mixing masterclass which raised the bar for the acts that followed. It was an infectious set which read the moment perfectly. We are excited to release the two and a half hours in its full glory.

Mr.C started MCing in London clubs aged 16 working with LWR radio's Ron Tom, Jasper the Vinyl Junkie & Jazzy M. Mr.C then hooked up with Colin Faver & Evil Eddie Richards to became resident rapper at the legendary Camden Palace in London. Mr.C went into the studio to record his 1st house track with Eddie Richards as Myster-E which was released in August 1987. This inspired Mr.C to become a DJ so in September 87 he took to the decks. 
Mr.C has since organised, promoted & been resident DJ at: Fantasy ('88), Base (Dungeons '89), Release (91), Harmony (92), Drop (93), Cyclone (94), Vapourspace (94 & 95), Flavour (The End 95 & 96), Subterrain (The End 95 - 2002), Superfreq (Worldwide 2002 - Present), Super Disco Freq (LA 2010 - present), Next Step Forward Festival (Sept 2018). 
Mr.C was resident DJ every weekend (Friday & Saturday nights) at the legendary RIP parties at Clink Street in London throughout 1988.
Mr.C hosted weekly radio show Future Music on Kiss 100FM in London from 1993-2002 & has presented TV shows for MTV, FH1, VIVA & BBC. To say that Mr.C is one of the most iconic DJs in the world would be an understatement.
In December 1995 Mr.C opened the legendary nightclub The End in London & then AKA bar 3 years later & was lauded as one of the best night clubs in the world. The End & AKA closed its doors for good on January 24th 2009. 1 Chapter closes & another begins. Since the closure of The End Mr.C has been running his Superfreq events globally & is just about to host his brand new London festival, Next Step Forward Festival. 
Mr.C runs & promotes Superfreq events, which celebrated being 16 years old in March 2018 & ran monthly at Mr.C's club The End until it closed down in January 2009. Superfreq functions bi-monthly in London & does regular events in Los Angeles as well as bi-monthly events in Calais France & one off events the world over.
Mr.C is founder & owner of Plink Plonk records, co-founder of End Recordings & founder & co-owner of the Superfreq label, which is now releasing music prolifically.
Mr.C has recorded under the names, Myster-E, Unity 2, Nu Jacks, Bass Bureau, The Shamen, Mantrac, Somnambulist, Animus Amour, Killer Loop, Mr.C & Tom Parris, Mr.C & 16B, Sycophant Slags, Indigo Kidz & East LA Tek.
Mr.C is best known as front man, songwriter & producer of the pop group The Shamen with whom he notched up a string of top 10 hits including Move Any Mountain, Love Sex Intelligence, Boss Drum, Phorever People & the UK number 1 smash hit Ebeneezer Goode. These hits were hits the world over. The Shamen album Boss Drum went double platinum in the UK & they also won a highly coveted Ivor Novelo for Songwriters of the year UK in 1993. Richard's currently recording solo as Mr.C & is also doing collaborations as the Indigo Kidz with Affie Yusuf & with Noel Jackson as East LA Tek.
His latest album was released last year called Incidents, which is arguably his best work to date along with singles Stand Up, Shape Your Dreams & Ripple Effect all being taken from the album.
