Written by Bruce Springsteen, covered by MANY! I like Paul Carack's version best.  I recorded this in my own little home studio. I played all the instruments (so there's no one else to blame!). Just a pretty song.

Should I Fall Behind

I've just always loved this song...the beat, the handclaps, the harmonies and mostly Dion's great voice. So I was goofing here at home with garageband and I just started layering guitars, vocals, bass and claps and next thing you know...Ruby Baby!

Ruby Baby

My cover version of "The Wanderer", a Dion DiMucci song popular in the 60s. Although some view the song as not politically correct by today's standards, it was just pure fun and had a more innocent context back in the day. And we knew it was a song about a guy hiding behind false braggadacio...he even says when he's driving from town to town, wandering...he's got "two fists of iron but I'm going nowhere". But, man, the song just moves...great rhythm, and there's 2 sets of background vocals...and I added a bunch of guitars and percussion. Fun song! I recorded this right after I did "Ruby Baby".
Yeah, I dig Dion!

The Wanderer

Another foot-stompin', semi-acoustic thing I did here in my home studio, right after I finished "Ruby Baby".  Just me over-dubbing a few guitars and vocals, beating on a guitar case...more or less trying to replicate the 68 Special vibe. I remember some years back wishing that NBC had done a better job mixing the sound for the live 'in-the-round' jam session thing. Depending on which take you got to hear, either the foot stomping was too loud, or when Elvis grabbed Scotty's guitar, the guitar almost drowned out Elvis' voice. You couldnt hear the other guitars at all. So...I just goofed around with my own version of it, imagining what it would sound like with a better mix. "We goin' up!"

The third song of my Dion trilogy! Recorded here at home on GarageBand. This one was done over a track, but I added a bunch of harmonies.

Runaround Sue

My cover of Conway Twitty's early hit..."Only Make Believe". (I also covered Conway Twitty's "Lonely Blue Boy", posted here too!)

On this song, once again, I played all the instruments and sang all the backgrounds and lead, and tried to give it a vintage "wall of sound" vintage 1959/60 hi-fi type vibe. 

I've always loved this song, preferring the original version, so I did my best to give it a classic Conway sound, but also included a nod to Robert Gordon and Glen Campbell, who also covered the song to great effect arrangement-wise.

Only Make Believe

Along with "Only Make Believe", this song has always been a favorite of mine, and I've included it in live performances now and then throughout my entire career. Just never got around to recording it til just now. 

I tried to stay true to the original Conway Twitty version...attempting to give it a little vintage 50's Hi-Fi vibe.

Lonely Blue Boy

Singer/songwriter/guitarist/actor/voice over artist/tribute artist. 
All my originals (and the select few covers I’ve included) here were done on my home studio and I played all the instruments and sang all the parts. No one else is to blame! 

Main instruments are my Gretsch electric guitars, my Guild and Gibson acoustics, and my old trusty, short-scale Squier bass. 

Recorded on my iPad Air through GarageBand, with Focusrite 2i2 interface, AT 3035  condenser mic, Shure SM58 Beta, K&K Pure mini pickup system and preamp for acoustic guitars and a Mel 9 pedal.
