“Arrrrggghaaa arrrrghaaaa! Cries Tarzan, and all the beasties come a running. The ground shakes to a thousand pairs of thundering hooves. Tarzan stands stock still in a large clearing, wet-look soft rock hair glistening in the sunlight, loincloth tight, nonchalantly cleaning his nails as the beasts bear down on him… Oooof! The beasties just steamrollered over him and come to a screeching halt at the feet of…  Charlie Beale! As I live and breathe! “Awright Geezers?” says Charlie, “Welcome to Freemixed Nuts Volume 4” and the elephants trumpet euphorically. 

The camera pans around to Leo who’s wearing a banana fancy dress outfit, grinning from ear to ear in the arms of a lovestruck silverback. Waggles and The Fritz are in matching pink tights and tu-tu’s, instructing a chorus line of flamingos the flamenco. Dephicit has covered his chin with lemon curd (again) and is now sporting an incredibly hipster beard made entirely of ants and wasps. X-Ray Ted is playing with the monkeys…oooh, they really shouldn’t be flinging that stuff around, it’ll get in someone’s eye! Get a room! Mr Stabalina is teaching the cutie meerkats to swear, he’s going to hell for that! Bear Twists is..oh my god, he’s TWISTING BEARS! Oh wait, he’s just giving Baloo a Chinese burn. General News turns to the camera, waves a glitter cannon filled with hallucinogenic frogs and says in his best Tony Montana voice, “Say hello to my little friends” and fires his psychoactive ammo. Bam!  …hey, why are my hands so big? Why has everything gone purple? Woah, can you see elephants?

Soooo the Scour Rangers™ were out in the fields one night when we bumped into the oddest looking dudes going by the name of TWOGOOD! They were wearing these well weird looking garms! Had some strange looking hats on their noggins, and if anything these boys looked like they’d just dropped out of a cancelled CBBC show. They wobbled up to us with open arms and blew some glitter all up in our faces! The next few hours were a blur whilst we partied like we’d never partied before! Things got weird, like suck off Fat Boy Slim's dad weird! You know, like swingers weird! We came round the next day to find we’d caught the bug. The TWOGOOD disco bug. Now there’s no cure for this bug that gives you the love of the disco; a desire to give affection to famous fathers; and a strange taste in attire. Fusing elements of funky breaks, glitch hop, hip hop and bass, with consummate ease, these guys need no real introduction. The aptly named "Hacienda Funk" Ep is the Niceguys at their forward thinking best, pushing funk sounds into a new direction all of their own. The levels of musicality are there for all to see, while still retaining all the ingredients required to rock a dance floor. Up first, "That Ass" sounds and feels like the title track of an original 70's movie. Whilst over on the flip, the latin flavours of "Valley Hacienda" would not sound out of place playing for sunset at Cafe Mambo in Ibiza, but still holds on to the funk. Two tracks that shouldn't work together on an ep, but full credit the duo's incredible musical ability, and production skills for merging these two sounds together so perfectly. The Two tracks delivered here will keep those summer vibes hanging on for a while longer. Let the sun shine on!
