It gives me a way to praise this question, this being, this ache, This.   As a community songleader, I love to honor our thresholds, bring beauty to our gatherings, tend the grief in our bones, liberate the pleasure in our bodies ~  all woven in sweet music, all in service of this great big Coming Home.

For many of us, photography is - at least some of the time - a walking medium. We stroll out into the world just to see what it offers us for making pictures. "While walking with" is a podcast created by TIS books to explore both everyday photography practice and the making and theory of photobooks. In each episode, we ask a notable photobook maker to set out with us on foot with a camera and a live mic. 

The NCTE Voices from the Middle podcast is a radio show featuring middle level ELA teachers from across the United States, practitioner-leaders in our field, YA and middle grades authors, and other surprise guests. All podcasts tie to specific issues of the print publication Voices from the Middle, published by the National Council of Teachers of English. Music by Lee Rosevere.

Lisa G. Littlebird is the director of the 250-member Wholehearted Chorus in Carmel and San Diego, CA. She has been on the faculty as a community singing facilitator at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, CA since 2006. Reviewed as "whirling, soaring" and "audacious... edgy... and thrilling," the music of Abbie Betinis is being performed increasingly in the United States and abroad.

Abbie has received nearly fifty commissions for new music, by organizations such as the American Suzuki Foundation, Cantus, Cornell University, and the Dale Warland Singers.  In 2011, NPR Music and New York's WQXR Radio listed her in the top 100 Composers Under Forty.  A McKnight Fellowship recipient, she has been composer-in-residence with The Schubert Club since 2005, and has also held residencies with The Rose Ensemble and The Singers--Minnesota Choral Artists.

Abbie lives with her grand piano, Lester, at the tippy-top of a restored 19th century walk-up in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
