MAWADα is the hybrid production and DJing project of Rayyan Abdelkhalek, that explores voice, ritual and community-based healing. Born in recall to the Beirut underground movements in the early 2000s that revolved around discreet yet highly inclusive acid, hardcore and experimental parties in-and-around the city, MAWADα’s practice is ever evolving.
Through bringing together different elements from techno, prayer, noise, pop and club cultures, MAWADα seeks to instigate and nurture collective affect through music.

The VA is another huge compilation with all of our favourite artists along with tracks from 4 of our residents and just like last time, we’ll be donating half of the proceeds to Ayrshire Samaritans - a local mental health charity who was greatly appreciative of our last donation and deserves the help more than anything.

This is the first of three parts of the compilation.

In April of this year, Joe Farr announced he'd be hosting a remix competition, using the stems from 10 of his UX [User Experience] back catalogue tracks. The entrants had until May 10th to finish and submit their tracks, with the winners getting released on a special UX compilation (digital), to be mastered by Joe himself and promoted like any other UX release.

This week we will premiere two tracks from the V/A compilation, the first coming from young up and coming producer FLÆN. With releases already on the likes of Gobsmacked Records and Industrial Techno United, plus Tetraedre Records, Falsive Records and Revok Records, this latest release further adds to his already growing catalogue. 

Remixing French techno producers Ekors, this a techno re-work fit for any dance floor. Expect industrial and heavy drum work making this a peak-time dance floor destroyer. 

As an extra incentive, all profits from this release are being donated to Women's Aid charity, a worthy cause to support during these times.

Subdued yet powerful at the same time, UBH adds a sense of serenity to Myler’s harsh soundscape. An eerie pad weaving through isolated percussions, instilling a sense of wistful serenity which coaxes you away from life’s ups and downs, interrupted by a menacing kick that drives the track home. The rise and fall of sounds, the intricate interplay and the careful balance that honour the original while pertaining the tracks own character are what makes the Lithuanian the master of his craft. A perfect example of the intrepid nature of music. Emotion, energy, nostalgia and euphoria are all on offer.

In Turkey, more and more women+ are facing brutal forms of misogyny every day, facing harassment on a daily basis; rapes and femicides are being normalized by the current system and these kinds of violence are becoming a normal state where women feel themselves even more helpless under the law.

Just as many of the human activities, experiencing music is a shared form of action that has a strong cultural interest with the cultural background of the society one belongs to. As an expression and a manifestation, electronic music has a connecting as well as antithetical strength that mostly shade into a form of becoming one. In that regard we band together as artists from Turkey and from all over the world to break the silence. We are inviting everyone to stand in solidarity with women in their struggle.

Next on the agenda is George Guinness aka ROWDIBOI, who has seen a rapid rise in the Dublin scene since the conception of his night @thump_techno last December and despite the lockdown in March, he continued to make a name for himself alongside his Thump brethren. Since then, he also established his label @realrotationrecordings , which has skyrocketed in the last year also. 

For his mix he provides some serious tempo ranging from 146-175bpm changing through the gears with ease like a formula 1 driver giving it socks. Tracks in this mix chop and change between Euphoric, Acid and Neo Rave Techno to relaxed Breakbeat juxtaposed to a Gabber twist.

Israel is only the executioner, every nation which has armed that country in the past year is an accessory to that genocide, an accomplice, a facilitator.  We cannot talk about war crimes because when you target unarmed civilians, mostly women and children, we are talking about a massacre, like terrorists do, not a war. The people who orchestrated that massacre, in the US, the most duplicitous, followed by those of the UK, Germany, France, and probably a few lesser ones should be tried for crimes against humanity just as well as Netanyahu and his cabinet, because it has been going on for two years, generously reported by media of all kinds, so the enablers knew exactly how the arms were to be used, as a tool for revenge, domination, and humiliation of the Palestinian people.  The conflict has ceased to be about the defense of anything for months.

The parties responsible have made a mockery of decency, morals, fairness, proportion, or justice, not to mention empathy.  Of what little there was, these concepts will be a lot longer to come back than they were to be struck down.

I have not been able to recover access to my other account [https://soundcloud.com/ha-kekong] for a couple of years.  I have tried a few times to get back into it but SoundCloud doesn't trust me.  Same phone number, same email addresses, and they still claim that they can't verify my identity.  I created that account about three years ago as a substitute to my regular account which SoundCloud temporarily closed.  They closed it as part of some upgrade procedure in their system, the result of a bug that affected many accounts, about two years ago.  Since SC did not inform its users I didn't know if that was permanent or not, so I created that other account which I can't access. No it's not Gibraltar, but a little bit further West. ...
