Electro Btaihi est un projet à mi-chemin entre les musiques traditionnelles de Tunisie et la musique actuelle et underground.
C’est une création du violoniste Zied Zouari, née du besoin d’explorer de nouvelles sonorités pour la musique tunisienne.
Electro Btaihi mélange des grooves très "up-date" (Drum & Bass, le dup-step, Trap..) avec des rythmes traditionnels tunisiens (Btaihi, Bounawara) le tout au service de la polyrythmie indienne et parfois du Jazz.
Un projet au goût du jour où chants ancestraux et musiques actuelles se croisent sans limites et affichent une complicité rare.

Pour ce faire, Zied Zouari s'entoure de l'époustouflant Beatboxeur Twinlo et du redoutable guitariste électrique Ghassen Fendri, deux pilliers incontournables d'un trio hors pair.

The band’s first album is titled “La Bombe”, also a title for the shows performed at Metro Al Madina which have received great feedback for over two years. This album’s most noticeable trait is the political and social satire present in almost every song. The album’s tracks address many aspects such as religious extremism, cultural, artistic and political disorder, and most importantly, hysteria within an entire nation. The music arrangements were done differently in this album, including instruments such as the violin, the Cello, the accordion and the tuba. The band began recording “La Bombe” in December 2015, after they got a grant from AFAC. Recording and mixing were done at One Hertz Studios under the supervision of sound engineer Jawad Chaaban. In 2015, the band performed in Jordan and proceeded to go on tour around Europe as part of the Beirut and Beyond Music Festival in 2017. All production was handled by Metro Al Madina.

یحمل الألبوم الأول للفرقة اسم "لا بومب"، وھو اسم سلسلة العروض التي أقامتھا الفرقة في العام 2014 في مترو المدینة، ولاقت إقبالاً واسعاً دفع إلى تمدیدھا بشكل مستمر على مدى عامین.
الحاضر الأكبر في "لابومب" ھي الأغاني السیاسیة والاجتماعیة التي تنتقد الواقع العربي القائم، بین الاستبداد السیاسي والتشدّد الدیني، وحالة الھستیریا التي تعیشھا بلدان المنطقة، والھذیان السیاسي والفنّي والثقافي.
وقد نفذت ھذه القطع في الألبوم بتوزیعات جدیدة، ودخلت علیھا آلات مختلفة مثل الكمانجات والتشیللو والأكوردیون والتوبا.

بدأ تسجیل الألبوم في كانون الأول/دیسمبر 2015 ، بعد حصول الفرقة على منحة من مؤسسة "آفاق"، وتمّ التسجیل والتولیف في استودیو "وان ھرتز" باشراف مھندس الصوت جواد شعبان. لعبت الفرقة البومھا الجدید في الأردن في آب 2015 وثمّ في سنة 2017 ، قامت الفرقة بجولة حول أوروبا بالاشتراك مع مھرجان BBIMF تولى مترو المدینة عملیات انتاج الألبوم والمساھمة في تمویل نفقات إضافیة لحسن انتاج العمل.

Stanford Lecturer + Arabology Radio Host Dr. Ramzi Salti interviews Lebanese songwriter/singer Zeid Hamdan, the music producer behind some of the most successful bands on the Lebanese and regional alternative scene. 
This interview focuses on Zeid Hamdan's musical journey and includes rare song excerpts + a live session by Zeid Hamdan at KZSU 90.1 FM (Stanford University).  Interview also includes questions by Zalfa Rustom and Stanford student Jin Yun.
Throughout this interview, Zeid Hamdan reminisces about his experiences with such artists as Yasmine Hamdan + SoapKills (Arabic trip hop), The New Government (pop rock), Hiba Mansouri(Arabic trip hop), Kanjha Kora (Guineean Pop), Kazamada (Arabic electro pop), Maryam Saleh(Arabic electro pop), Dany Baladi(Arabic electro pop), Maii Waleed, Tamer Abu Ghazaleh, Marc Codsi, Mahmoud Radaideh (Jadal), Zeid and the Wings(New Arabic pop), #Melmo, and Khaled Mouzannar (Capernaum soundtrack).
He also discusses his arrest in July 2011 over a song deemed insulting to the Lebanese President where officials reportedly took exception to the lyrics: 'General go home'.
Zeid also discusses his collaboration with Khaled Mouzanar on the soundtrack of the Oscar nominated Lebanese film #Capernaum.

YUNIS seeks inspirations from the popular Egyptian folkloric heritage, which boasts many instruments, tools, and musical styles. He then reads and analyzes the musical legacy and presents it with the forms of his contemporary time. This is what is clearly shown in his first solo album, “The Blue Djinn dance", which released on 15 November via Kafr El-Dauwar Records.

With multiple influences of electronic music and contemporary Egyptian folk/wedding music, YUNIS tries through six original tracks to explore in the creative spaces afforded by the various shapes of the music of these popular weddings.
