Berlin-based record label Odd Pleasures is finally born. Curated by acclaimed Chilean duo Random Atlas (SXDNS155/FREEDL024), the new South American/European imprint will be devoted to exploring the darker side of disco and focus on bringing a fresh blend of Electronic and Rock, Post Punk, New Wave, and everything in between.

For its debut release, ODD Pleasures has prepared a Worldwide Various Artists Compilation including tracks by well-known producers from Argentina, Chile, Mexico, and Turkey: Alvee, Persona RS, Marzian (SXDNS128), Alex Aguayo, Ducati Flux, Javier Martinez (SXDNS104), Fat&Bald, Ludviq, Aural Trace, and the label honchos themselves make up the dream team. 

Every artist presents a delicate piece of their musical exploration that gives life to an obscure, mysterious, and futuristic sonic universe. Powerful beats, underpinned by catchy and dark bass lines, New Wave synthetic textures, and atmospheres with hints of Post Punk and Krautrock elements. ODD Pleasures’s first compilation proposes a storytelling journey that crosses the line between the dancefloor and casual listening, a soundtrack to anyone who seeks an immersive driving force.

The track we were solicited to premiere/review was cooked with love in Santiago, Chile, by talented producer Roman Sebastian aka Persona RS, also a member of MKRNI, Roman & Castro, and Follakzoid. His “Space Pod”, definitely one of the highlights of the release, is a groovy and bouncing peak time cut with a powerful bassline and a stunning synth layer, a powerful contribution to a mighty compilation. Snoozing the Music from Plants C1 is a 4-track EP that explores the frontier of post-digital music creation, where organic, biological inputs merge with artificial intelligence under the careful guidance of human curation. This project serves as a practical application of the Sergej Snooze current research. analyzing the intersection of objective data, technical execution, and emergent aesthetic patterns.

The Creative Process: A Fusion of Three Intelligences. This EP is a genuine act of co-creation involving three distinct stages of intelligence:

The Bio-Generated Signal (Nature as Input): The entire foundation of this EP began with the raw, bio-generated electrical signals captured directly from a plant. This original sound, recorded as an audio sample ("Music from Plants"), provides the organic, evolving lead melody and core timbre that drives all four tracks. It is the initial, non-human data input.
The AI Interpreter (The Socio-Technical System): The raw plant signal was fed into Suno AI, a sophisticated generative music platform.

The Human Curator (The Emergent Pattern Analyzer): The crucial final—and most time-consuming—step was human curation. From dozens of AI-generated iterations and extensions, the best four tracks were selected based on their ability to elicit the desired output that suits Sergej Snooze public appearance in terms of music expression  This highlights a key finding: in a post-digital world, human selection and curation are as vital to the creative process as the initial generation of the music itself.

A Research-Driven Release
Ultimately, Snoozing the Music from Plants C1 is not just a collection of songs; it is a sonic experiment demonstrating that meaningful, impactful art emerges from the dynamic interplay between biological life, powerful algorithms, and critical human decision-making.

Mexican label Innisfallen, curated by Montessori (FLXXX), is proud to present its second release. After featuring acclaimed Israeli artist Middle Sky Boom (remixed by Colossio, Azaria, and Alvaro Cabana) in its debut, this time the magic comes from the hands of French producer Did Virgo, who delivered two high-quality originals that come accompanied with two solid remixes provided by Italian Franz Scala and Mexican Die Jungle.

In a utopian world, machines are intended to be capable of running eternally after an initial boost without the need for any additional external energy due to the concept of perpetual motion. The title track seems to depict this utopian world. Listening to it is like immersing in a scenario in which the machines have taken control. The fat and absurd bass line plus the trippy and sublime synth layer could perfectly be the highlights of Did Virgo’s “Perpetual Motion”, but nothing can overcome the impressive and imposing siren-like synth riff of the theme. The energy and clout it deploys is undoubtedly its most striking feature, something the fans of apocalyptic sci-fi books/movies out there might like.

After his turn it down music debut "back in flight", this is the second release from Manchester-based Kid Machine. In keeping with the season, the opener track is called "Iceman". On the B - side the track "Strange Lands" awaits the inclined listener with fresh retro electro with an Italo disco touch.

We present the theme "Iceman", a movie track that will help bodies relax and travel until they lose themselves in the immensity of sounds. As captivating as it is elegant, track with the perfect amount of substance, it is presented with a powerful style that ranges from classic to innovative. Enjoy!

PREMIERE: Kid Machine - Iceman [Turn It Down Music] (2020)

Julian Fleker is an artist from Argentina, a friend of Playground Records' (@playgroundrecords) origins in the underground of Buenos Aires. Ricardo Ruben's (@ricardo-ruben) project starting from the name to the artistic side face and composition takes a humorous place, although his musical background is serious. Ricardo Ruben is a character from a song by the 80's rock group Los Twists that carried a share of acid humor.

It is then that the name of this EP is not surprising, nor the way to face a different compositional work, wanting to highlight an idiosyncrasy of personal and local search.

“De la cabina a la parrilla” (From the booth to the grill) is another title that plays with the local humor, Ricardo Ruben talks about those Argentine meetings where everything walks around meat and barbecue, and the DJ booth can be set up next to the embers. Diving into that personal identity, his search for sound combines modulations that twist and shoot up and down, hi hats and rides that filter and deform, cowbells in front, gloomy melodies of out- of-tune oscillators that give something of a grotesque circus and then come out in synth leads that carry us to an ecstatic trance.
