Mark & Ed Ignite the Dancefloor with unreleased gems at Wolvenroedel Beach Party

Rooted in the heart of the burn community, storytellers Mark and Ed bring their passion for deep, driving organic and melodic sounds to life in both their productions and DJ sets. At their recent beach party performance hosted by Wolvenroedel in the Netherlands, the duo curated an unforgettable musical journey that evolved from tranquil to electrifying.

Starting the evening with a laid-back 110 bpm as the crowd lounged in the sand, Mark and Ed gradually built the energy, peaking at 120 bpm as the dance floor erupted with movement. Interwoven throughout their set were a selection of their unreleased tracks, including new collaborations, offering the audience a taste of what’s to come from these two talented artists.

This set encapsulated their signature blend of atmospheric grooves and uplifting melodies, a testament to their ever-evolving sound and shared love for music that tells a story.

Glad to be sharing with you my opener set at House of Yes for the Zero x Elevation "Before the Dust Settles" in September 2024. This was a special one for me as I was lucky to have House of Yes open the doors as all my NYC friends were waiting outside to see the dance floor get packed in a couple of minutes.
It also captures what I believe is important in an opening set, slowly taking the audience from a groove to a dancing mindset but without pushing them too much. It is a very delicate exercise which is often harder than the headlining set.

🎶 diladï presents Afterhour Sounds Podcast Nr. 293 🎶

We have been following Valentina aka diladï and VALE for several years now. Her style and performance have convinced us since the first meeting. Not only does she know how to create a wonderfully dense sound experience on the floor, but she also trumps with her performance behind the decks. It's fun to watch her play. You can tell that she loves to mix and that she literally merges with the audience and the music. That's why we are so excited to finally welcome her to our series. 

She has unpacked her alter ego diladï. Her slower side is tailor-made for our series and heralds a wonderful sound experience right from the start. Melodic, dreamy and with lots of hypnotic synths, she takes the listener by the hand and transports him directly into another world. Great tracks are waiting for us that flow into each other like pearls on a string. From time to time she presses the accelerator a little harder. But the sensual Valentina appears again and again. Wow! The seconds and minutes fly by. To realize again and again that music is simply the most beautiful thing in the world. It evokes feelings and invites you to dream.

✔️ What is your musical background?
 
Early on as a kid I started learning to play the piano, the guitar and also to sing. This continued into my teenage years - later then I also sang in choirs and had individual concerts with bands. As a teenager, my interest switched from mainly indie and alternative music to electronic music; Berlin was definitely very influential and still is today.

✔️ In your opinion, what makes a good afterhour?

When you just don't want to go to sleep and completely lose your sense of time and space.

✔️ What thoughts would you like to share with us about your mix?

This set it less bouncy than usual, I would say, and definitely slower, with a range from 105-108 bpm. With the music I chose this time, I'm exposing a more dreamy and melancholic side of mine. Nevertheless not wanting to lose the drive..

I’m happy to share my extended closing set from Snjóblóm at Viking Village on Iceland, end of September 2024. It was definitely one of my favorite moments this year. It's a bit faster than I played in the past, but it just fitted the vibe and I really enjoyed it :)

Sebastian has been sharing and mixing his tunes through the world since he got his first MK2 back in Paris in 2003. Discovering nightlife at Le Palace in the late 90s and soon collecting vinyl's from Parisian stores like Katapult, Techno Import or Kitsuné, the original inspiration came from the Detroit Scene through Garnier's Rex residencies and the terrific Kill the DJ parties at le Pulp. 
He has been behind the decks throughout the US, Europe, Latin America and currently resides in  New York City. Sharing stage with names like Birds of Minds, Unders, Mandrake & Dramian (Mayan Warrior), Carlita, Maga, Bonjour Ben, Djuma Soundsystem, Patrik Khach and Holmar his experience engaging the crowd and technical expertise are praised by the industry.
