一時活動休止。約2年半のブランクを
経て、2012年9月ライブ出演を
きっかけに活動を再開。
現在3rdアルバム準備中。

Five Pound Pocket Universe is a Jazzcore project founded in 2016 by Swiss musicians Michel Barengo (composition, drums), Andi Bissig (tenor sax, samples, effects) and Valentin Baumgartner (guitar, prepared guitar, effects). The band has worked together with guest musicians such as Mitsuru Nasuno (e-bass), Tatsuya Yoshida, Natsuki Kido (guitar) and Sou Inomoto (electronics) from Tokyo Japan for their live performances.
5PPU's music oscillates between rapidly changing moods of pre-arranged sequences and improvised sections building up to towering walls of sound. At times like zapping through TV stations, a constant, slightly disturbing mood acts as a gravitational force on the individual segments, keeping them together.

The band absorbs elements from jazz, grindcore, metal, game music and other genres.
