Drugface are two professional internet musicians arguing before the Pantheistic Council of Demiurges on behalf of all humanity. Suffice it to say we’re extremely lucky that the forces governing our reality are really into psychedelic indie dance-pop. 

“In the Clouds” is the latest single from the secretly prolific duo, a synaesthetic window into a realm where everything tastes like data and everything sounds like mushrooms. B-side “On the Prowl” is a collaboration with Multi Culti vitamin-shaman Dreems, with the results entrusted to Finnish synth-lord Jori Hulkkonen to ensure everything holds up 9,000 years from now. 

For the remixes, Simple Symmetry pull you through a wormhole to the sunny beaches of Moscow, The Beat Escape add massive doses of class and elegance, while Clarian brings it all home with a closing-credits neurotransmitter wash. We tested these descriptions on 50 tastemaker chimps, and all 50 were still at least “somewhat jazzed” about hearing the tracks anyway.

And of course it goes without saying that Multi Culti is proud to present this.

Tel Aviv super group @megaphonim are bringing their off-kilter energy to Feines Tier in form of their new „Namal Ashdod“ EP with four original tracks and hell of a @simple-symmetry remix. Even though they’re all quite unique on their own, what unites the tracks is the combination of raw beats and vocals with an oddly catchy pop approach to the writing of the music. Be it in the aptly titled „After of Disaster“ with its let-loose energy, the slow-rolling „Lo Titfos Oti“, which could have been picked from an Andrew Weatherall (RIP) dj-set, or the title track with its break-beats and its unforeseeable left-turns, there’s always this playful and off-the-wall energy keeping the ball going and bouncing. And let’s not forget about the remix! Endlessly rising duo Simple Symmetry do what they have become known for very well here: Deliver an insanely groovy and relentless weapon of a track, guaranteed to blow the roof of every club, festival floor or after, however disastrous it might be. The EP also comes in form of a limited vinyl edition, so don’t sleep!

Japanese artist Gem Wallow makes her debut on Playground Records with her very first solo Ep 鼓動 KODOU.

A solid piece of art composed by three songs coming from nature and its elements. An Ep that crosses different soundscapes like ancient haikus cross generations. Full of life and organicity, groove and fluidity. An impeccable work that is completed with two epic remixes by the Australian Francis Inferno Orchestra and the brother duo Simple Symmetry, who surf in the waters of psychedelia and krautrock to give the final touch to this masterpiece.

PREMIERE : Gem Wallow - I Am 5 Months Old (Simple Symmetry Remix)

Making the debut release on their new label, Powder Music, Made in TLV drop ‘Rehab’ with remix support from Simple Symmetry & Xen, and Rina.

Powder music is a new imprint from Israeli duo Liraz Levinson
and Aviv Bens (Made in TLV). Breaking on to the scene in 2017 with a series of incendiary releases, they were quickly snapped up by Asymmetric, Keinemusik and Blue Shadow. Now bedded into the fabric of the Tel Aviv elite, they travel the world with their unique sound.

‘Rehab’ is a rubbery mid set chugger with bags of personality. An acidic bass takes the lead from bar one growing organically into an infectious groove aimed squarely at the cooler floors. On remix duties, Simple Symmetry and Xen drop the tempo to envision a dark, druggy dub version that swells with e-moments, while Rina delves into harrowing soundscape-y minimalism.

It can now be revealed. Anonymous internet supergroup Drugface is going public, unmasking themselves as Multi Culti audio-visionary Thomas Von Party and Montreal cult legend John Shape, who absorbed the life rights to the Beaver Sheppard Story in an online game of Russian Roulette. If you’re reading this, the Von Party element probably makes so much sense that you’ll never forgive yourself for not realizing it sooner. The vibes, the production; it was there the whole time.  Eagle-eared listeners may have ID’d Shape from his Ricardo Villalobos-produced remix pack on Sei Es Drum, or as the singer in German instrumental band Brandt Brauer Frick. Those who guessed both members are now on some kind of list.
