Tel Aviv’s Red Axes are one of the most exciting new acts in dance music, with rich sound that is musical, deep, trippy and organic, while remaining precise and lethally effective in the club. The range in their sound is impressive, their talent unmistakeable. They are one of our favourite artists of the year, and this latest record is one of their best yet.

Lead track 'Waiting for a Surprise’ builds around a mid-tempo disco bassline, with tough percussion, and rugged synth stabs, but it’s the eerie and unique sounding vocals of Brazilian collaborator Abrao that bring everything together. This one is a guaranteed bomb for building up, tearing down, peak time or chilling out… an outstanding track in every sense, the kind that force trainspotters to the DJ booth to discover what’s playing. Next up, ‘Hope’ kicks off with resonant, delayed toms, adding a haunting howl and synths before dropping into a wild, clanging, carnivalesque frenzy. It’s understated, but advanced, with an interesting arrangement that really opens up in the second half. Finally, 'The Metal Bender’ slows the tempo but ups the vibe into an elated, slow-burning space-disco anthem. Fantastic stuff!

Melbourne’s Kris Baha, fresh from launching his Power Station imprint, offers a stripped down remix of ‘Waiting for a Surprise,’ with a heavy, industrial-influenced groove that wanders into the deep, dark end of party strasse.

After Silenzio and Robotique de l’Amour- in french, Vampiros Discos is Theremynt’s third Ep- an electronic journey in Portuguese-tribute to  Horror Brazilian Filmmaker  Ze do Caixao and all the vampires movies that have accompanied us as teenagers such as Dracula and the Likes. Somewhere between dirty house, krautrock and deviant techno, it is an uplifting track made for the dancefloor . The three remixes are following the track’s original path pushing it to its edges: Andrew Claristidge from Acid Washed has given an interesting version both deviant and cinematographic, the Club Bizarre duet is offering a more techno version  with obsessive bells while legendary techno producer David Carretta is immerging us into a new beat and rather technoish hypnotic tune. The result is a perfect DJ tool -worth trying on the dance floor in the middle of the night.

Sami is a post-Moondog shamanic tribal trip, while Round combines dilapidated future Goa electronics with just the right amount of cowbell and guitar psych. Vego Gam is lo-fi Spaghetti Western, full of tape delay and amplifier sauce, while Pulse waves and wind chimes ring Russian bells on the title track, Kalacol - a mind-melding dancefloor gem.

A record that could only come from Niv and Dori - another reconfiguration of the Life and Death mausoleum.

Premiere: Dino Lenny - I Feel Stereo (Red Axes Remix) [Yoshitoshi Recordings]

Chaim is an Israeli musician, whose organic and forward-thinking music rouses listeners around the globe.  His productions have found homes on some of the industry’s most notable labels, including BPitch Control, Rumors, Supplement Facts, Disco Halal, Cocoon, Visionquest and spawned the stunning full length Alive in 2011. Chaim is also known for gracing the DJ booths of acclaimed venues and festivals around the globe, and he is about to launch his new platform ‘Blue Shadow’ this year.

Creating a big buzz since Bonobo played it at the Boiler Room in New York at the beginning of the year, the mysterious track is part of ‘This Connection’, Chaim’s debut mini Ep on Rebirth, set for a release at the end of July. 
‘Wrong Diagonal’, produced with Jenia Tarsol, is a trippy, hypnotic track with an incredibly catchy percussive rhythmic pattern that will drive you crazy on the dancefloor. ‘Spells Of Bhagwan’ has a killer arpeggiated bassline,  experimental psychedelic effects and the amazing vocals from Maalem Kouyou.

Exclusive Time To Sleep - Lungo Mare

Named after one of Croatia's most beautiful coastal prominades Pula-based artist Time To Sleep makes his Disco Halal Singles Club debut with Lungo Mare. The take captures some of the artist's musical influences and comes with a rather funky almost rock-ish bass line, which is enriched with a bleeping lead synth that in the course of the track is groomed with a glitch adding even more raw- and edginess to it. It's those little details that Time To Sleep prepared Lungo Mare with that keeps the listener hooked to the track and making it sound intriguing. But in all the aforementioned roughness Time To Sleep's approach has beauty shining through and possibly describing the twelve kilometer lasting path Lungo Mare, when having overcome as well as to take on some burden before rewarded with beautiful sundowners and views over Adriatic Sea.

Time To Sleep's single Lungo Mare will be released on Disco Halal Singles Club on May 1st, 2020.
